Has anyone seen pictures of the sliding top with rear quarter panels and doors off? I'd really like to know what it looks like

Just went into the jeep site and I don’t see this option available yet? Can you place an order yet with the power top? Waiting for this option along with the sting grey to place my order.
I don't know if the feature was live when you checked but it's live now. Did you try to build a Sport or Sport S where the option is not available? It's on the Exterior Tab for the Sahara or Rubicon.

Just want to sit in it and see how “open” this top really feels. Plus wondering what that wind hitting the back window would feel and sound like. Man, if that back window was removable this thing would be a grand slam for me.

Is anyone else concerned about ordering the new push button power glide canvas top? Completely new feature for the manufacturer, leaks, mechanical issues with only a 3/36 to back it up? It certainly look great, especially for those who don’t have the time or desire to dismantle their traditional hard / soft tops...ultimately I chickened out on my new JLUS...

Here's my take. If you have the flexibility of not needing/wanting the JL right now wait, or consider getting the most basic soft top and wait for the aftermarket to deliver equal if not better functionality for equal if not less price.

Not only is this a lot of money to pay, but the choice to get this top will likely involve you having to get the JL serviced if you want to change tops (or at least have access to several buddies to help you put this top on and off, especially if you look forward to dropping your windshield.

When making decisions like these I like to look at the price and features of the next best available option, IMHO: the soft top, whose downsides involve no rear windshield wiper, and need to pull off the road to lower the top, much better designed than the JKs, rather than push a button at 50mpg or less to open it.

If your a short women with long nails--ok--I can see this power top being for you.

But for the rest of us, is this worth $4K?

I dont see how Jeep didnt make that back window removable. I mean thats a lot of drag, and potentially dangerous or bad for the pressure added to the window locking mechanism/hinges.

Granted I am no auto engineer or aerodynamics expert...but if you had this top open...with no doors, and no rear window sides inserted.....isnt that just asking for trouble? Ever put your hand out the window and then angled it straight up at 80mph? Thats your back window now, constantly, cant be good!...therefore it must be removable right?

Dealers probably wont remove this top for you, Jeep themselves came out and said its not recommended to be removed unless necessary for repairs. This top has a bad reputation from its previous attempts (not on wranglers of course, but other models)

I don't know... Doesn't seem that much different than driving down the highway with the freedom panels off and the windows down. I've done that hundreds of times in the JKU and my back window seems fine.

I was expecting the PT to be $2995 but at $3995!?!? Twice as expensive as the previously most expensive top option (Body Color Freedom Top). Fully loaded Rubicon/Sahara is moving officially into high-end market! FCA/Jeep really is pushing Wrangler to upper scale.

So I can expect a JLR with diesel and PT to be $60K (before haggling). Dayum!!!

Well here is MY pros/cons for each top

Soft top:
Pro:
Easily put down
Con:
Plastic windows
Rear window doesn’t pop up (like hardtop)
Hard top:
Pro:
Window pops up
Windnoise lessened and better insulation
Con:
HUGE PITA to remove completely.
Power soft top:
Pro:
Easily taken “back”
Rear side windows come out
Back window pops up like hard top
Con:
Frame “fixed” in position
Back window doesn’t come off
I would like more accessibility to the rear cargo space for golf clubs and many other things I seem to have a need to haul around often enough. Hell even groceries can be a pain reaching under the soft top rear window.

Why not? How many soccer moms you see cruising with Rubis and Recons? Why? Because they're the most expensive Jeep models.

Keep firing more expensive parts on until they don't sell.

Suburbans start north of $50k and can run almost double that. I see these like they are still priced as they were in the 80s. It's nuts!
