Hoping the community here can help me make an informed decision on which engine to choose. I realize there have been many posts debating this issue, but the majority of them (that I was able to locate) were from early 2018 when the 2.0 was brand new. Now that the 2.0 has been out for a little while, I am interested in 2.0 purchasers experiences. Also would welcome any new thoughts on the 2.0 vs 3.6 "debate". Plan is to run a JLUR on 22" wheels and 37" tires. More city miles than highway (Atlanta is a traffic nightmare), and maybe a couple trail days a year (with OEM wheels/tires). I have seen the power/torque curves, and it seems the 2.0 may pull better from standstill, whereas the 3.6 seems to perform better at highway speeds. Thoughts? Thanks all!

Go test drive both. I'd say wait for diesel. Better torque then both

Definitely go test drive both engines back to back in as "like" vehicles as possible. Sport to Sport, Rubicon to Rubicon, 2-door to 2-door, Unlimited to Unlimited, automatic to automatic, etc. Another note if your interested in a Rubicon or Sahara… Make sure both the 2.0 and 3.6 have the same screen size and stereos. 2.0 Rubicon and Sahara can be equipped with and without Active Noise Canceling. The 2.0 with the larger infotainment and Alpine will have Active Noise Canceling. A 2.0 Rubicon with the standard screen and stereo will not have ANC. It might sound less refined then the one with ANC. The 3.6 does not have ANC, apparently it's not needed.

Most dealers fill with the least expensive gas possible for test drives. More importantly, make sure the 2.0 Turbo engine has premium gas in the tank during your test drive. Regular 87 octane gas will not unleash the true performance and potential of the 2.0.

As a 19 JL V6 owner and a future V6 Gladiator and Supercharged V-8 Hellcat Redeye buyer , I encourage you to please buy the turbo four-cylinder. FCA needs the credits to help offset people like me.lol

Yeah go test drive both, IF you can find a 3.6 on the lot....lol.
This might actually be the biggest problem. Finding a "like" 3.6 on lots to drive side by side with a 2.0.

Dealer feedback seems to be that they are only allowed to order 2.0 for inventory and 3.6 is restricted to customer order only. So you may need to find a used 3.6 for comparison

I liked the power delivery on the 2.0 .. it was actually quite surprising for a 4 cyl.. In the end it really was not my choice though and maybe I'm old school but I just could not do a 4cyl. I prefer the known route as I plan to have it for a very long time and didn't want to deal with any 48v systems/batteries down the road. Maybe as others say test drive both. Depending on how long you keep it weight that into your decision. If it is short term no doubt consider the 4cyl. Long term for me I choose the knowns with the v6.
