Has anyone attempted to remove/cover/replace the front amber portion of the LED lights in the fenders?

Hate the yellow/amber reflector, was just curious if anyone has attempted to remove it or if it's part of the entire LED housing and non-removable. If it was removable, would love an aftermarket clear version with yellow LED, but I feel like this is not going to come apart from the main housing.

Only thing I've seen is someone had sprayed theirs black with VHT Nite Shades (https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...nting-different-color.4798/page-6#post-219131), curious if others have attempted anything or have pics? Haven't been able to find a thread or anything on this.

I used Lamin-X. Just buy a universal piece and used a razor to cut it out. The Retrofit Source is coming out with turn signal assemblies and will include a smoked out option as well. Haven’t seen it but will prob order it cause I pre-ordered their assemblies.

Looks better subdued like this too. Not as bright.

FYI: In the United States, amber front and red rear side marker lamps and retro reflectors are required. Carry on. Do as you wish.

Haha I know they are, I do this to all my cars though and never had a problem here in SoCal!

Euro models never come with these I think it looks much better without it!

I believe if you use a bulb that shows amber when lit your fine.

These are really cool, but $70? Need some cheap Chinese to start producing these for the eBay market! No sure what a clear JK side marker cost when they first came out, but can get them now on eBay for about $14. I guess at this point we're paying for initial engineering, molds, and other related start up costs. Still, I'm thinking hard about parting with $70!

Much different than the JK you’re paying for the entire housing with integrated LEDs and electronics inside. Not just a plastic housing.

True, along with the other factors I mentioned. Still, Somewhere in the area of $40 seems about right, and no doubt we'll see something just as I described on eBay within a year or two.

Ya Imsure there will be some eBay ones soon... for the JK, Recon sells their crappy LED ones for $120, so I thought these were pretty fair at $70 for high quality lights, either way I’m happy with them, I installed the clear ones, the smoked ones are a bit too light and looked odd
