Added a tazer lite and 315/70/17 ko2's on a sport with rubi takeoff suspension/wheels. Front tires definitely rub on front control arms when you get close to full lock turning. The 3.45 gearing struggles and the spare wont fit on back without a relocation kit. Speedometer was off 6mph driving 70mph.

70mph.

Adding RK 2.5" Adventure stage 1 lift with shocks on Sat along with takeoff jlur d44 axles with brakes, aux switches, locker, harnesses, drag link, tie rod. Hope the 1.5" wider rubi axles help with the rub. Dont want spacers or having to buy new wheels...Cant wait! Still waiting on Roam frame mount steps to arrive.

My newly installed 35" tire was vibrating a little much, so I removed it and changed the set up. I thought I'd share what I did, and what I used for anyone else adding 35" tires for the first time. This is on JL Sahara.

I'm using a Rough Country relocation bracket which seems to be rock solid. Will add the HD reinforcement soon to be safe.

1. Removed the tire. Rookie's tip - don't let that sucker drop the last foot, or it will bounce right back in your face :)

2. Re-routed the third brake light wire to give a little more slack in the cable - just undo the torx screws from the light mounting and lift the wire to the inner track giving an extra inch or so.

3. Extended the bump stops and put on a rubber foot to apply more even pressure on the tire (previously had cut PVC pipe only)

I used a piece of 1 1/4" OD PVC tube (a washing machine hose - $5 at Home Depot) and cut it to fit. This sits perfectly inside the factory bumpstop. I then used a rubber leg tip (meant for furniture - $3 for 2 at Home Depot) on the other end with a 1 1/4" interior diameter and 32mm in length. This sits nicely against the tire to distribute any pressure and stopped any vibration.

4. Finally done, I found out how hard it is to mount a nearly 100lbs 35" wheel/tire combo solo! My solution was to lift onto storage crates and get close enough to level up, then do final short lift to the carrier. That's my weight lifting done for the day :)

And I thought I was the only one that used 2, of those identical 26 gal totes to help get the heavy friggin spare in place without destroying my back.. 8-) Yes, they work great..

By the way, the 2 dr JL will easy hold 4 of those 26 gal totes. 2 stacks of two. They fit right in easily and are easily secured in the back of the JL. They are my lets say, my go to on my many road trips, in regard to storing my belongings in the back of the JL. I secure them and then throw a couple of Harbor Freight shipping pads over them. The black pads cut down glare, gets them out of the eyes ..

Today, removed the "Wrangler Unlimited" stickers and Visor stickers by using the trusted hairdryer and fingernail method ... Need to follow up with the Goo Gone ... as soon as I find it.

Yup, we travel with exact same ones in truck and jeep. Everyone gets a tote and only a tote for whatever they need.

@Zazoh

I removed my visor stickers in May when I first got my JL. A few forum guys here did the same back then. Sure looks better without the stickers.

Do know though, that that slight, rectangular outline on there that remains cannot be removed. It is not adhesive, but rather a non removal remnant lets say.

CAREFUL, with Goo Gone, etc.. as it can damage the visor. One forum guy (not me) found that out the hard way.

My new E-ZPassĀ® transponder arrived today. The battery died on my old one...

So, I had to Plasti-Dip it black like my old one.

I peel the Plasti-Dip off the old E-ZPassĀ® before I send it back . The stuff comes off easily..

I Plasti-Dip the E-ZPassĀ® so when it is placed on my front windshield it is not an eye catcher , an eyesore... a white blotch on my windshield.

Takes but a few minutes to coat it with a few coats of black Plasti-Dip.

I cover the whole thing, even the white label on it.

The Plasti-Dip coating has absolutely no impact on the transponder being read by E-ZPassĀ® system receivers along the road or at the toll both areas.

I'd say the trick to this Plasti-Dip the E-ZPassĀ® thing is how you fasten it to the windshield afterwards.

Most everything you use to secure the transponder, to the windshield is white and or stands out like a sore thumb...

Except these... and these are black in color, not shiney, hold strong .....and also with these, you can easily remove the E-ZPassĀ® transponder when necessary.

By the way, you take one Command Strip in the package, and click it onto another one of the Command Strips in the package. Cut it to size of the transponder's backside..

With them clicked together this way, you have adhesive on each side of the pairing. One side's adhesive fastens to the EZ Pass transponder and the other side's adhesive fastens to the windshield.

Now, when you want to temporarily take down the E-ZPassĀ® you just tug on the transponder, and it lets say unclicks. To place the E-ZPassĀ® back on there you just click it on.
