I'm still waiting on order but does anyone know if I'll be able to use the factory auxiliary switches? I ordered the harness but it comes with a position on-off-on switch for high low and not sure if I can do away with that and use the factory ones somehow. Would I have to use two of the factory switches? I'm not to electrically savoy but have done some simple stuff. Just looking for some direction so when they arrive I can install. Thanks

Yes you can.

You’ll need to modify the harness and utilize the 15 amp Aux switch (LP9’s draw 7.6 amps) but this is all easily done.

That said, the LP9’s actually have 3 settings. The amber fog light, low beam and high beam. I’m using 3 switches on my sPOD Bantam to control them.

Good choice on the lights, Baja Designs makes amazing stuff!

I had seen one picture before where they looked to big, but look good in your picture. If you had a chance could you take a picture head on? I was thinking of the Lp9 on bumper and lp6 on a pillar.

LP9’s on stock bumper, S2 Pros on the A pillars. sPOD control.

I want with S2’s over Squadrons to cut down wind noise (smaller profile). They make an incredible amount of light. LP6 there would catch a lot of wind noise...

With these 4 lights, I have about 210 degrees of excellent lighting. And the sPOD Bantam gives me full control (momentary, flashing, strobe, etc) as well as being able to light up one ditch or EVERYTHING.

I have the Baja Designs LTR going on once I get the Rhino Rack. That will improve my backup light situation as well as my nighttime highway visibility of brake lights etc.

I also have a pair of LP9's on the way, and am trying to figure out how to hook them up properly. I'm planning to use the factory aux switches. Is it possible (and how?) to wire it so the amber fog light is just tied into the DRL's? Then for the high/low setting, I'm not sure when I would ever use the low setting (I have a pair of squadron R's in place of the fog lights already) by itself, so thinking I may just want to have them on one switch to turn the high/low's on. If I do that, do I have to use one of the 40 amp switches (1/2)?

Don't understand electrical really well, so wasn't sure if you have to add the high (7.6) and low (1.52) amps together (9.12) and then double it for the pair (18.24) to get the total that is going to be on one of the switches?

They draw less than 15 amps so they’re fine on one of the smaller aux switches. Yes, you can wire the ambers into the DRL’s and yes, you can just use one switch for the high beam function.

I dont recommend that. In different off road situations you may want the low beam function of the LP9. The high beam on the LP9 is a LOT of light. There are times that can work against you. It’s good to have options.

Another plug for the sPOD Bantam is that I can control the output of everything, rheostat style. The sPOD HD panel is far more intuitive than the OEM Aux switches, especially it’s location. I’m going to use my Aux switches for other, less frequently used items like my compressor.

In this position on the A pillar grab handle (ball mount by Carolina Metal Masters) I have all my lighting controls at my fingertips. I’m not looking away from the road to find the Aux switches. And it’s all adjustable to my liking, I can choose color, brightness, strobe, momentary etc

Even if I combine them together its still ok to put them on one of the smaller switches? I'm putting two LP9's on.

Yes, you can wire the ambers into the DRL’s and yes, you can just use one switch for the high beam function.
How would I tie it into the DRL's? Sorry, probably a stupid question.

Even with the pair of Squadron R pro's that I'm running in place of the fog lights, still think it makes sense to keep them separate?

appreciate the help.

They draw a max of 7.6 amps each. Two of them puts you at max draw of 15.2... use a 40 amp circuit if you like

How would I tie it into the DRL's? Sorry, probably a stupid question.

Find the DRL circuit and go from there. Those LP9 ambers draw very little. I’d play it safe and use the DRL circuit to trigger a relay to the ambers. Done.

Totally your call

Thanks for replying American Adventurist and thanks Eric for the other questions I hadn't got to yet. I hope mine look as good as yours. Worried they might be to high now mounted on the mopar winch guard. Guess I'll know tomorrow if they show up.

@American Adventurist If you don't mind me asking, how did you mount your LP9's? I was gonna use the Maximus-3 mount, but that puts them both out front, in the center, and I like the way yours look closer towards the grill.

OEM steel bumper, holes are already drilled.

Well I received mine today and mounted them up. Next up is wiring:facepalm:. I mounted mine with the mopar light bracket. Only has one hole. Do any of you see me having an issue with them turning left and right?
