NO WAY!!!!! This is sooooooo wrong. OMG what a bunch of sh#t!!! I am SOOOOOO sorry man!! Wow, I am losing my patience with all the misinformation.... just tell us the truth!!! My god we ordered with blind faith in the leaders of this forum..... do not tell us the order banks are open and that you will track our orders if it is only sorta true!!! Many of us are spending over 50K!! Why have this forum if they dont tell us the truth??? Sorry but I am now pissed. How can they just TAKE HIS order???? What are we all doing here??? Sorry but this is crazy.

You seem to be confusing this site with FCA/Jeep so let me help you out. JLWF is not owned by or affiliated with FCA in any way. We operate independently and have exactly zero control over your order, its whereabouts or what shows up in the nationwide tracking system. We offer a free service to JLWF members so you don't have to bug your dealer every day. Don't like what the tracking system is (or isn't) showing? Go write a letter to FCA. And let me know if you'd prefer to be taken off the list so I can add someone else who wants to be on.

We operate independently and have exactly zero control over your order, its whereabouts or what shows up in the nationwide tracking system. We offer a free service to JLWF members so you don't have to bug your dealer every day. Don't like what the tracking system is (or isn't) showing? Go write a letter to FCA. And let me know if you'd prefer to be taken off the list so I can add someone else who wants to be on.
I guess I screwed up. I thought you were connected. I am sorry. Big screw up. Situation still REALLY sucks, but am sorry I aimed at the wrong people. :-(

I didn't put any money down (thankfully) so no leverage there. This is just D-league garbage by putting sales reps ahead of customers.
Although it is still 100% not okay to do, any chance it was given to the rep to train the dealership employees and then will ship to you? Even if this is the case makes no sense to use a sold order when they have already shipped so many early allocation jeeps. I really feel for you, I would be livid!

My poor dealer (who I neither blame, nor hassled) quit emailing me. He is either embarrassed or just doesn't know what to say.
Mine too, he has gone silent and can't seem to get ahold of him anymore. He was to call me last week after speaking with his rep, haven't heard a thing since.

I also think I could extend the lease twice more (90 days total past lease end). But I'd prefer not to. Kind of a PITA.

Yeah this sucks and what sucks the most is that I'm back to square one. This was going to be a late 40th birthday present but that's out the window now. I did post something on Twitter so if anyone wants to help spread the word that would be great.

The fact that someone at FCA would do that is enough to make me want to cancel my order now. If I'd waited months and had my order pirated like that I'd be furious. Obviously someone at FCA did it thinking that the intended owner would never know exactly what happened and they would just find another JL. It's bullshit, and enough of a stink needs to get raised that the person gets nailed for screwing over a loyal customer.

Yep, I agree - this is bullshit. It's dirty play and I don't like it. My order had "Sold Order" so not sure why someone would think this is a good idea.

It's the same VIN that @JAY has been tracking and @JLWF Dealer Guy sent me some detailed tracking information clearly showing a "Ship to dealer changed" entry on the order.

Frustrated at the whole situation and hoping to hear more about some sort of resolution. I'll keep everyone posted.This

That way we can focus on it and the outcome. And it will notify many others who don't follow this specific thread.

My lease ended the end of November and I was told I can extend it for 6 months. I really don’t want to extend it any longer then I have to since I’d rather be paying a loan on my new Jeep then paying the lease.

TFL Truck reported that Ford is taking orders for the diesel F150 starting the middle of this month. As I languish in D for 53 days, watching more recent similar orders move down the line, hearing @newJLUguy Getting hijacked, being told by FCA that they "have the parts" and other canned responses. I am considering the virtues of a pickup.

This is the first vehicle I've custom ordered and the experience is turning me away from the brand. The membership of this forum is large enough to be considered an adequate sample size from which to measure and judge the larger group of Jeep buyers. I think there must be a lot of disappointment in the Jeep community. And not because we have to wait, but because it all seems so unfair. So faithful are we that we laid down deposits on a vehicle that we had not seen. We only guessed at the cost.
And how are we repaid? Shinanigans, double speak, misinformation.

I think it is a lot of information jeep must get to a ton of their workers. I’ve spoken to so many dealers over my life that there is a big disconnect not only with Jeep.
Dealers are just buying cars and often really just are the middle man. Some “care” to learn more, others just want to push stuff out. I am sure a lot of info about the vehicle is now readily available to them.
The tracking thing is not something they have to offer. I was frustrated for awhile but now it is pointless to be angry. It’s a brand new car. The fact that they’ve provided anything is better than nothing. Yes I know we are spending tons of money and in this day and age we could track a package from BFE around the globe. Or one of thousands of planes in the air on demand etc.
But their system isn’t up to date and they probably haven’t updated it because why should they spend money on something that really only us 250 ppl are going to really obsess over? Once it gets up to speed in a month or two they’ll be churning Jeeps out and delivering them at a consistent 6 week rate so tracking won’t really matter. You order and you get it within six weeks voila.
I don’t think it’s unfair, and other than us few early buyers I don’t see “a lot of disappointment in the Jeep community” from this. We’ll all get our Jeeps soon, we all chose to be early adopters, Jeep doesn’t owe us anything other than insuring that they delivery us a good product.

Wow, now I am terrified. Been here since the beginning newjlguy like some of us others. Unbelievable. Keep us updated on how it gets sorted out. Mine went to KZ today. If that were to happen to me I don’t think I could wait for another. I’d tell my salespeople to find another similar build on a lot and get it there or I’d probably switch vehicles.
Feel for you man, the wait since October has been tough.

Quick update on my order - I called the dealer in Oklahoma and spoke with a sales guy there. I inquired about a granite crystal JL sport that was recently delivered and he said, "Oh yeah, the grey sport we just got? Yeah that was for an FCA rep. It's gone but we'll be getting more in soon". Someone at FCA hijacked my vehicle.

So, there you have it - my Jeep, that I've been waiting for since October is gone. :crying: Guess I'll have to get at the back of the line now.

Keep an eye on your order - hopefully no one else has this issue! I'm pretty upset and would like to know how this happened. Doubt I'll find anything useful or have anything resolved soon.
That is AMAZING!!! Man I'm sorry to hear this @newJLUguy. Their lack of attention to detail, inaccurate build/tracking process, and disregard makes me wonder why we even bother. Problem is there truly isn't any alternative out there for us to opt out to and they know it. Bad business FCA... :mad:
