Hey guys,

I assume there’s no room for negotiation on the sticker price if you can find one due to the limited availability?

Thanks!!!
Most people are custom ordering theirs and they buy a Tread Lightly membership ($100) and it gives them a code that guarantees them 1% below invoice so approx 2-4K under sticker price

Just an FYI...looking at the Jeep.com locator near you, it DOES also reflect sold orders to customers, not just dealer allocations. My Jeep shows up as being in transit.
That is great news!

And I thought I was tall! Are you long in the torso or the legs? What's your inseam?

Seems like overall you're still going to pursue purchasing a JL none the less?

Although I am pretty tall, it is evenly distributed 36" inseam and 39" inch sleeve length. My 6'9" son fits it my 2014 Rubicon, but he really fills up the cavity.

I've owned a lot of convertibles in the past 2 Mustangs, Le Baron, and a Pontiac Solstice. For the most part I squeeze into them carefully and slowly, but I do love the soft top. I would have purchased a Jeep soft top last time but they are just so much more noizy than other convertibles.

Convertibles always offer an extra inch or two of Headroom over a hard top. I am guessing the Jeep Sky One Touch soft top probably has an extra inch of head room. With most other vehicles having a convertible gives me a lot more space.

I drove by the dealer to take another as you requested, but the Rubicon JL was gone. It had been sold and I assume the new owner accepted his vehicle

I would order a JL Rubicon now. However, I really want the Sky One Touch powered soft top.

Thanks Schmeegz! Other than the Tread Lightly though, the dealers probably won’t come down on price? I just don’t want to deal with arguing over price when it’s just known that the dealers arnt going to budge. I also don’t want to get screwed over.

Although I guess for $100 it seems it negates any arguing by getting the Tread Lightly so if all dealers accept that then that’s the way to go.

I’ve just been discussing this with my family and they seem to think they can just walk in the dealer and bring the price down with negotiation; I feel that due to the high demand and low volume, there won’t be any negotiation.

Thanks!

Interesting- mine is in transit but does not show up with the Jeeps in-transit to dealers near me.

Read the Ordering and Pricing forum on this site. There are a few high volume dealers who are offering deep discounts on factory orders. If one is within reasonable distance you can use them as a baseline to try and negotiate something close with local dealers. Some will give you an additional discount for Tread Lightly.

You local dealer doesn't have to really negotiate because customers are willing to pay MSRP for a new vehicle. So it will be difficult but some dealers will negotiate.

And Tread Lightly is a good cause and $100 is a good investment to get 1% below invoice with no haggling which is not a rock bottom price but a good fair aggressive price.

Not sure if this is a customer order/dealer stock or a demo...but I found it poking around for other videos.

I bought my 2014 Rubicon using the Tread Lightly program as well as when I placed the order for my new JLUR. It works well, removes any negotiating with sales people and tends to improve the buying process overall.....well worth the $100 donation (which is to an awesome cause....so win/win).

All that said.....talk to your dealer before obtaining your Chrysler affiliates Control number. The number is time sensitive and if you are ordering a late production (like we did with Mojito! Green)...it may actually expire before your Jeep is processed. Tread Lightly gives you 2 control numbers for the donation, so if you make a mistake, you have an extra.

We made this mistake but our dealer said that they would honor the price if for some reason Chrysler backed out on the deal.

I'm kind of a data nerd. I looked up new inventory within 150 miles of my house which is a little north of Houston. The tracker found 292, all in transit. So I went looked at what was coming. Here's what (mostly) the dealers have ordered for south Texas:
Jeep Wrangler JL Confirmed JL Dealership Arrivals upload_2018-1-7_9-53-15

Nothing but autos and hard tops- that shouldn't be a surprise.

Of the 130 Sports: 129 come with the Technology Group and 110 come with the Convenience Group.
42 of 44 Rubis come with the steel bumper.
Rubis/Saharas: 145 come with LEDs and 129 come with Infotainment.
Of the 292 total, 116 come with Safety and 82 come with Towing. 10 have Remote Proximity.
This was a surprise to me: 187 come with the Cold Weather Package. In Houston.
And ZERO come with the Smoker's Group.

The highest MSRP is $54,465 for a Sahara and there are 10 Sport S models configured the same which are the lowest at $38,980.

Just some fun facts to discuss as we keep waiting for ours.

Thanks! It's interesting to me, at least, as it reinforces how we on forums like this get such a skewed perception of what people buy.

Here, you'd think everyone was getting a Rubicon, whereas they're actually only 15% of sales, though perhaps it'll be different elsewhere.

And you're saying that 0 of the 292 of JLs have soft tops or manuals, or just that there aren't many? If actually zero, that is surprising to me, even after I adjust for real-world vs. forum-land.

Kurt13,
Me too on data!
How do you get the data and search for what is in your area? I've played around on Jeep site and could find any JL's. Thanks
