Ok fellow Jeeepers, what are your recommendations for long lasting soft top care and what products do you use for them? I have the premium top and want to keep it looking and preforming good!

I agree with 303, but this one for the premium soft top. Regular 303 for the black plastic or interior plastics.

Yeah, premium soft top is very clothy, so don't use the regular 303 on it. Black fenders and rock rails etc., absolutely.

I have the premium soft top and use the Fabric Guard 303 with success. But it was mentioned that the regular 303 is useful on plastic. That said, when might the regular 303 be better indicated that say Armorall for such plastics?

(Note: people say to not use Armorall on any soft top.)

My JK's premium top is 6 years old and I've never cleaned it with anything but water and it looks as new as the day I bought it.

Do you use the aerospace 303 on the regular top. I guess the regular top is vinyl?

I have '07 Mustang GT Convert with the black cloth top. About 5 years ago, I sprayed a product everyone recommended called Raggtop. Mask the windows with tape and plastic and spray away. 5 years later the top still looks like new and beads water.

As much as I love the 303 products for my boat covers, Raggtop is the best for cloth convert tops.

The standard top is cloth as well, just not the same material as the premium top.

I find that interesting because the outside feels and looks like vinyl, but the inside like cloth.

Mind you I haven't seen the base model JL soft top up close and person, however if they are anything like top's they used on the JK's over it's life span it's cloth. I believe the material is called Sail Cloth which is some sort of multi-ply fabric.

I agree. Ive used RaggTopp on 2 convertible Mustangs, & 2 Wranglers with premium tops. It has kept all of them looking new, and as you said, water still beads. Clean real well when washing also.
