Highly recommend retirement :like: We've been retired for 13 years. Thought we'd get bored but found we have been too busy to get bored. We make to St. George once a year for my wife to compete in the Huntsman World Senior Games. This year there are a little over 11300 athletes - actually more than the number of athletes that participated in the Rio Olympics! While she competes in Table Tennis I roam around the hills and desert geocaching. Today I'm going to do something sacrilegious - I'm going to wash the Jeep. Think I gained a few pounds of mud yesterday up in those beautiful red hills. The recent rain had left the "roads" with some nice ruts and mud puddles.
So envious! After June I hope to be half time (one month on, one off). I will need that much time to make Utah from Georgia. Nice you could do that while you can still have a brain and body to enjoy! I am working g on my husband, I got him almost half convinced. Maybe I’ll steal your photos and tell him I’m hiking the red rock!

Finally narrowing down my build plan. Definitely having a harder time with the black.

I'm thinking silver polished wheels, silver emblems, and silver outlined "RUBICON" decal. Slightly retro feel..

Then i plan to try and hold out as long as possible before i cave and throw a lift and tires on (ruining the ride forever :p)

I think spending time on this forum and seeing posts by a few members (I wont point fingers), has me loosing this battle. I'd love a set of muds for the summer in the hills with the all terrains for commuting duty. Still don't plan to lift the Jeep, but down the line I may go to something with more droop and a bit more speed in mind.

Every time i log in, i start pricing out lifts and tires.. It's a losing battle. Thinking about long road trips and highway miles brings me back to the stock side. I also enjoy fitting in every parking garage again :p. Luckily the 2dr's look amazing without much done. Ill end up with 2'' + 35's

these ko2 at's have impressed me and i've run almost every brand, style & load range of tire you can think of. i also dread losing this ride and mileage by lifting and bigger tires. i have other priorities, like a rear bumper and tire carrier, plus i still have to fix and protect my exhaust. lift and tires are way down the line for me.

Guess I do too but it says parts not available? There is also an x near the weld. I wonder if it means anything?

I just dropped it off. They said there is no open recalls in their system. I showed them the notice but he said there is nothing he can do till it actually comes out.

Jeep informed its dealers last week that it will launch a recall for its redesigned 2018 and 2019 Wranglers over improper welds on front suspension components that many not have been attached correctly at the factory.

If the welds break, the bracket holding the front track bar separates from the frame, which dramatically reduces steering response.

According to the dealer communication, FCA identified about 18,000 Wranglers that may be affected by the welding issue. Jalopnik reported that about 720 of the vehicles are expected to have faulty welds. It's not clear if Jeep will repair the vehicles or replace them entirely.

MORE: Some 2019 Subaru Ascent crossover SUVs may be replaced for faulty roof welds

The recall was spurred by owners who reported failing welds on Jeep enthusiast forums such asjl-forums.com. A member of that message forum also posted details of the communication from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles sent out to dealers in anticipation of the recall.

Jeep isn't the only brand to make headlines over faulty welds. Subaru recently announced a recall to address a welding fault its Ascent three-row crossover SUVs. Subaru planned to inspect and replace any Ascents found with bad welds.

So far, no crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of failing Wrangler track bar welds.

The recall report I just posted has the weld info. But who knows what this really means ??
As you see they list the 2019 Wrangler as having bad welds !!!! How can this be as they
are not out yet. Nothing they say makes sense. Let's enjoy our Wranglers and not worry
about this nonsense.

The whole JL roll out has been a bit of a mess since December, why expect it to change. Art any rate I am loving my JL every bit as when I first saw it, bad welds or not, its awesome!

Have no complaints. If they weld a beefier bracket on, it will just be that much more awesome.

I haven't thought about what I'd do if it requires a new frame with possibly another long wait to drive it...
