hey, im back, I got my printer, did some test prints to verify all was good, found out I was violating forum rules soliciting sales and thread this was locked, decided to become a sponsor to get thread unlocked cuz I hate window bag so much I figure I need others to be happy too.

so I am curious if you all are still interested after finding out the price is $80 for a set? if so please like this post and DM me to setup payment and shipping etc.

price includes shipping to 48 states, I dont know how to do customs and dont really wanna get into that (sorry cant ship to canada, etc). I figure if there is an issue I will work with you to get it right, but I cant offer a return policy as of now. for payment I only got venmo and zelle. and will request payment at time of order. my capability will be no more than 5 units per week, so if I get many orders I will update on how long lead time is in DM.

a lil about me. I am prolly a lil OCD, hence why window bag bugged the shxt outta me. I went to michigan state, to get bachelors in metallurgical engineering. I currenty am a manufacturing engineer in Houston for an HVAC manufacturer. I have spent over $5M in the last 10 yrs for manufacturing equipment. I also design tooling and improvements for equipment becuase they never make it perfect or just not good enough for me. I am not a business guy, I am morso intravert, so doing marketing or sales type stuff is not my thing. thats why my pics/videos suck, lol.

but so, I think the "soft top holders" are freaking sweet. I have been using them for over a month now and I cannot see any flaws yet. houston has had awesome weather lately, so I have been testing the holders just about every day. I will drive to work with top up, the take top off for drive home, and repeat...

if I am missing some kind of a sales detail that matters please let me know / ask, like I said im not a business guy so I dont really know what I am doing, figuring I will go one day at a time and figure it out.

sorry for the long story, but figured it all should be said.

had a couple questions on how how the windows actaully fit in and what the pieces look like. i hope this helps explain it better.

here is a pic on one side empty. for 2 door you use the outside headrest posts, for 4 door you use inside headrest posts. you can see the 2 slots for the 2 side windows to hang from the flap that goes into the frame of the jeep. then there is a clamp at the top for the top bead of the back window. the far side clamp is open and you can see how there is a wedge that clamps the thin rubber.

here is a pic of a side window in the bottom slot, and other one about to be put in the top slot.

last you can see how the back window top bead clamps in.

Thanks for the close-up pic. I was having a hard time seeing how they fit in before. Very ingenious. When you figure out how much you'd need to charge I might be interested in a set for a 2-door. My rear seat is removed so it would just be for the ease of storing them in the Jeep during the summer.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about fabric or a protector between the windows. They may slap together a little as you go down the road, but I think people worry too much sometimes about scratches on plastic windows.

@onepoundjeepjl Robert was kind enough to let me try his invention out and they are working great.

In my run-up to leaving for Moab, I've had my doors off and the windows stayed impressively stable even at 80 on the highway. I did have trail doors on but I'm sure completely doorless would not have been an issue.

The slots for the side windows seem to be perfectly contoured to keep them in place. The clamps for the rear window as well.

Oh, did I mention I don't have a factory soft top? His holders work great for the TrekTop too.

Thanks again to Robert and I will be giving you more feedback from Metal Masher, Moab Rim and anything else I can fit in.

Edited to add: @Opus I agree, I don't really see a need for a divider but I'll weigh in more after Moab with a little more dust in the mix.

I was just asking whether it works with the trektop ultra. Sounds like it will. Do you have a 4 door?

curious if you could edit the design a little bit to put the windows behind the back seat ? reason i ask is i have someone sitting in the back seat most of the time. i do have a window bag that i hang off the back seat which works, but, ur method would be much cleaner. especially if they could be held at the bottom to keep them against the seat

thanks l

I want to give you a full reasearched response, cuz I hear ya.

but i got a busy day today, work, then mens basketball, then dead tired and asleep. (44 yrs old I can barely keep up with the young ones anymore).

initial response from what I know now,

1: held at bottom:
I want to figure out a strapping method for back of front seat, but I just didnt put time in to this yet cuz I have a 2 door. I think I would want to go this route, so I will get moving on this. I can do testing on wifes 4door.

2: back seat design:
back seat doesnt have as much hanging room so windows would hang too low, I think. I may be able to use same design but raise it higher on the backseat and into the head rest area, but not sure how clean that would look and structural may not be as good either. for 2 door it seemed pointless to look into it too. another route, I may be able to get a design that works that uses all clamps but I again need to research it.

other issue with back seat design is how seats fold down and head rest stays attached and also folds. I need to have a better design for that difference, need to attach different, or have a quick release, or I guess could be bolted together assuming seats dont go down, but if needed just undo bolt to drop seats.

I will definitely get a better answer, I just need a lil time.

sounds good. quick release would be really cool. i dont put my back seat down very often so for me it wouldnt be as big of a deal. im thinking ur way would be cleaner and be less bulky then using the storage bag

well I made a lil time to look. I was too curious. I am totally changing thoughts. (go figure I was totally wrong in how I perceived it)

1: holding or strapping bottom
this actually does not look that good. I dont think I can come up with an idea that will be worth it, the 4 door side windows are so small it makes it all wonky. so I do not want to do this....

2: back seat design
It will only work on 4 door. but I actually think I can do this relatively easy. im glad you made me look. cant give details yet, I will redesign and make a print to test it out, but I am like 99% sure its gonna be good.

basically I will scrap the current design and everything will be the new design...

well I got the design updated today after work and started the first set printing tonight. generally its the same but I tighted things up so the side windows are higher up and it should fit behind the back seat of 4 door. I am using a button head hex bolt to attach it to the back seat. and I made an improvement to the clamps.

ill take pics either tomorrow or friday to show the update. I am glad everyone waited cuz I think this will be good.

thanks @Punknhed for making me look at this.

Well i took today off work. Hope all are having fun at EJS. I am excited to say this was an awesome update. I think this is what makes everyone go from I may be a lil concerned about trying this, to I have to get it!

Design change is what i stated above (lil shorter, attach with 10-24 hex bolt, & improved clamp). Everything still works as normal if you want to hang windows from back of front seat, but now it also works for behind back seat.

I also had been thinking about price. I think I can drop it to $60 until the end of April. I think its worth it for the first people that want to try this to get a discount (this includes shipping which is like $15-$20 because of the size of box it has to go in).

Here is a pic in the back seat of wife's jeep.

here is youtube link showing how seat actually still folds down!

heres a pic of 1st side window, and that you need to push it back all the way in. 2nd side window goes in same as first.

here is a pic of what it looks like with all windows in. and then showing that you need to tuck the back window into the wheel well area (hangs right side up)

Here is some install Pics now too. First you fold down the headrest, then place the window holder in place, then fold headrest back up, then screw in bolt from front side making sure to put rounded part of bracket going in first. i wasn't planning on supplying the 1/8" allen for the bolt, and make sure to not overtighten, its just plastic.

that looks awesome. only thing i would do with mine is make sure whatever gear i have in the back has a towel between it and the windows. that set up looks so much better then having them in a bag thats kinda bulky.
