Soft Top Window Holders for the Jeep

well my obsession with my jeep continues. I had my back seat out for a while and I wanted to put my top down and didnt want to just lay the windows down in the trunk, so I thought I must make a window holder that attaches behind my front seats.

I made the holder with a 3d printer, and its super easy for me to take windows out and set/put them in the holder, and I dont have to mess with a bag or where to put my windows. all 3 windows hang from it you cant see them cuz the back window covers them.

this also would work for 4 door jeeps, its actually easier to hang the windows cuz of the 2 extra doors. only thing that I havent figured out yet for the 4 door is how to hold the bottom of the windows tight against the back of the front seat so the kids in the back seat dont have windows hitting their feet...

only suggestion i have, is to add (window size) soft fabric between the windows to minimize abrasion from the windows rubbing.

The bag does have a loop allowing you to do the same think and protect the windows? That worked well for us, we road tripped to Yellowstone and wanted the top down experience while in the park. Ultimately I looped the strap around the back seats to keep the windows upright as I had 3 passengers with me

yeah i agree I should have fabric between, I dont show a great pic now that I think about it. but I think there would be very little rubbing cuz of how I have them attached to holder. I havent gone thru a summer to do a full test or anything, so I do wonder if fabric is needed so they dont stick, I hope its good as is cuz its so convienent doing it this way....

yeah I did that too with my wifes jeeps soft top, I still felt like it was a whole process to go thru and if u have any stuff in the trunk it makes it more difficult, so I felt I had to be able to make something better. I think I will do a better video or pics to show it in 4 door setup...

How can I get a set?

I was curious if there was an interest. I may use this as an excuse to buy my own 3d printer. currently I borrow my works 3d printer to print stuff for myself every so often. i gotta look into it. once I figure it out ill prolly try to sell them, or get hooked up with a 3d print shop to sell them for me.

hang on a lil bit and ill see how I can get this all figured out. and ill put up more pics to show it off a lil better.

FYI: 3d printing / designing 3d prints is addicting.....

Well I checked with a local 3d print shop and they quoted me $130 for a pair.

I figure I could do it for $80, cuz im not really expecting to make a major business outta this.

Am curious if you guys are still interested?

if so ill buy myself a 3d printer and ill just sell them to you through DM.

also I decided to make a video to show how I do it.



and here are some pics of how it fits in 4 door jeep. you can picture how easy it is to put windows on the holders with the back doors. there is an issue with how the windows hang and get in the way of back seat riders. I show myself (6'1") in there and how my legs push against them. and am not sure how no doors would work, if wind becomes an issue or not, but nomally I dont take my doors off. anyway heres the pics.

Very cool concept! Are these printed in PLA, PLA+, ABS?

I've got a Trektop (and 4-door) and I *think* the attachment would be the same. I'd be happy to check it out if you would be willing to share a file. I have a P2S.

Completely understand if you don't, I realize you are at a big decision point right now.

Heading to EJS so I would be giving them a workout too.
