I did commercial construction for 30 years. First worked as an overhead door installer / mechanic and then suspended ceilings. After about 10 years, I had the opportunity to take over the business. No wife or kids, so threw myself into it for the next 20 years. Eventually branched out to include metal framing and drywall. Finally got somewhat burned out, as well as tired of trying to find employees, meeting crazy codes, regulations, insurance requirements, etc., blah blah blah.

Wouldn't want to do it again, but it let me retire early, got married and got my JEEP! 🥳

I would like a diesel trawler to do the Great Loop someday after we are to old to Jeep.
I talk to so many loopers each season, it’s so interesting to hear everyone’s story because everyone has their own timeline to do the loop!

Feels good to be out of the joint for 20 years now. Still watch my 6 all the time as my 4.5 years as a C/O has served me well and at 72, while I'm no longer 'bullet-proof' I'm still confident that I'm as tough as I need to be. Hope you enjoy the Jeep Life as much as I still do. Be Well. Denny Oosterbaan
I retired in 2018. Oosterbaan rings a bell, but can‘t put a face with it. But hey, it was 34 years, 7 months and 20 days ago when I left MTF. You and I would probably not recognize each other anyways.

We jeep all over North America. We do multiple month trips each year.

Think Like this.

We did wheel in Alaska again this year, and Colorado. Kind of a slow year for us as we had other traveling that we did. August was Colorado for a month of Wheeling or so, then Vegas, Utah and Arizona for hiking. First part of October went to Georgia, leave on Monday for 4 months in Thailand and maybe Vietnam. Then to Florida at the beginning of March for a cruise. Mid March we will head to the Southwest to Jeep, hike and camp until the end of June.

My wife and I trying to not wear out our couch.

May Jeep together late summer next year when we get home. I often lead group rides and there are other forum members that occasionally wheel with me when we are back in Michigan.

I would like a 38 to 40 diesel trawler to do the loop with when we slow down some.

While this is my favorite boat picture that I have taken.

I would like something a little bit more sea worthy. Like this maybe.

Not everything, but we have wheeled, camped and hiked most Jeep peoples bucket list stuff, plus some. There is still more to see and do.

2018 Grayed-Out Sahara JL your travel map and he started panting. Don’t know if was from excitement or exhaustion. You may never wear out your couch but I’m betting you’ve needed some good Rough Country Neoprene Seat Covers over the years! Is your Wrangler Mantra - ‘’A Rolling Wrangler Gathers No Moss’?

We have a local upholstery shop that pulled the factory foam out of the seats, and rebuilt my seats with the thickest amount of memory gel foam that they could fit under the factory seat cover. My Jeep is all day comfortable. The best $700 spent on the Jeep for comfort.

While the our Jeep doesn't gather moss, it does gather mud.

I had to Google that. Being from the PNW, I'd never heard of it. But it looks interesting.

Extremely popular, My office is on lake michigan so I am always chatting with loopers, a friendly bunch generally. A guy at my company did it with his friend when he was 17 on a 17' Montauk @wibornz
