I think I’m going for it lol. Literally 1.5” difference in diameter and a weight LOSS of about 9lbs per tire.

I might regret but I might not lol. And then I can save for a regear and maybe 9 months to a year down the road I’ll regear it.

Think I’m going 37’s

The ko2 at 37’s measure small so they will be about an inch to an inch and a half more in diameter than my current 315 falkin wildpeak at3’s. The at3’s weight almost 73 lbs a tire and the ko2’s come in almost 9 lbs lighter. I’ve only got 3.73 gears and don’t plan to regear for a while which is why I’m having the dilemma….heavier tire but smaller diameter or lighter tire with larger diameter.

Today I’m leaning towards lighter tire larger diameter. Only thing now is I’ve heard the ko2’s are good but not great with rock crawling. I think my falkins did pretty good. I’m still considering radar renegade RT’s in a 35 that seem to be pretty nice off road buuuut not in a 37…. So yeah lol

add the Mickey Thompson baja legend 37x12.5-17 to your list of small 37's..it is only 70lbs and gets good reviews.....

That’s a great choice from what I hear and the height of the tire all depends on how much airs in it with the K02s from BFG. I personally will take a break from running K02s as I had bad experience with them, balancing most importantly. They just didn’t want to balance. One had to warranty it because of that and took 5 months to complete and get replacement so I quit, and sold the Jeep for a JL.

I myself am on 3.73 gears but I’m not sure if you got 3.6, 3.0 or 2.0 engine with the 3.73. I’m in a 4xe with the 2.0 and 3.73 but I’m really considering 37s in Patagonia XT which weight is 76lbs plus 27lbs wheel so around 103lbs give or take. That’s 27lbs more than my stock wheel+tire. Still not sure on it even with 470 torque constant. Funny thing is, Patagonia XT in 35s weight is 1.5 lbs difference.

That said, don’t forget the weight of your wheel to add. :)

Here’s a thought, Chris, that is probably flowing like molasses through some Jeeper’s brains - the “special needs” type of newbie thought pattern.

If you are airing-up to 36 pounds, just drop it to 26 pounds; that will take 10 pounds off of each tire. Or, air-up with 15 pounds of helium. Your tires will then weigh -15 pounds.

You’re welcome.😁

Yeah I have the 3.6. Wheels I’m running are the same wheels I’ll run the 37’s in so no change there. We shall see. I do like to wheel. I think k with the reduced weight my driveline components will be okay.

Just curious. Why did you start with a Sport? It seems like a lot more work.

happens all the time...people do not think they will end up liking offroading so much as they do .initially a sport seems like a nice get away rig forest service roads etc and then they get hooked and pretty soon they are doing tougher trails and it just snowballs...pretty soon want lockers and heavier duty axles and so on and so on...story as old as time really....:)

Just as @jadmt said.

I %100 bought my Jeep because it looked cool. I had zero intention of off roading. I actually didn’t even know the difference between a sport, sport s, Sahara, and rubicon. I just saw a Jeep with 35’s and a little spacer lift and thought…that will look bad ass and fun driving around.

Then a buddy convinced me to go on this little nothing trail and with the doors off, top off, 4 low … I couldn’t find enough crap on that trail to climb on lol. It’s been a year since I’ve owned this jeep and I’m hooked. Swapped axles myself, wired for lockers, lifted it…..had I to do it again I would have went rubicon all the way…but I didn’t know.

I feel ya! I'm in a Sahara 4xe only because my wife decided she wanted something else and since these got a bad vibe thanks to Jeep's CEO for asking way too much for them, and the electric range, its value dropped where we still owe $40k and its worth $30k. So I'm left with figuring out how to make this as cool as it possibly can be and trail ready. Will go with 37s, and as least heavy as possible, but regear in a year or two to something like 4.88s. My axles are already the Rubicon axles so no need to swap anything but lockers of some sort and gears will be its future here. Hopefully, I don't tank with MPGs to a point where I gotta switch to 35s. 35s just don't fill our Jeeps right unless they are maybe on a smaller 1.5" lift, but then you can't do much offroad. But yeah, sort of same boat...

I was going to order a Rubicon with RX after we settled down with our 4xe but guess wife had different ideas after 8 months lol. It is what it is, at least I'm not starting with nothing.

Yeah right on man. At some point I’ll probably regear. I’ve already told my wife…if this Jeep will last me 150k I’m a Jeeper for life and my next will be a 2 door rubicon (most kids should be out of the house by then). I take better care of this vehicle than any I’ve ever owned so we shall see.

Since im not regearing right away im pretty set on these KO2’s dude to size and weight…I think its a good way to get into a set of 37’s without destroying my rig off roading. I’ve already been out to Moab once and my wife and I loved it. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the ko2’s and rock crawling but my guess is they will be just as good as my falkins only larger so I’ll probably think they are awesome.

Awesome! Awesome! If I ever find time, I will go out again. I'm coming from having a 2006 LJ 35s with 5.13 gears and supercharged :P ... that thing, was a rocket :P and so is the Sahara right now, we will see how she does with 3.73 and 37s but I'm guessing I don't have a supercharger on this thing but in return, I got 470lbs of torque to move those 37s. But yes, regear definite.

In a year, I might change my mind though and swap for like a Rubicon JT if they do release the 392 on it. Hopefully, its not $160k :P LOL.

Keep us posted on your build though with the 37s. There is plenty of folks running KO2s 37s on 3.6 and other then MPGs in 16-18s, they don't say its super bad. Obviously, you'll get those that don't agree but I'm also thinking its because they look at it as a rock crawling, heavy trail beat down when you say 3.6 + 37s which at that point yeah regear but plenty do it without, and plenty do trails. So all really depends how you use it, where, and how you feel about it all.

Something is tickling my brain on the 4xE. Are they limited to 4.56 gears? Something about the computer can't be set to anything deeper where the non 4xEs don't care all the way up to 5.38.

I believe with the latest TBS, they unlocked that so you could run higher gears because I've seen quite a few folks do 5.13s with 37s, 38s ... and on a bunch of forums it seemed at the very beginning that when they did 5.13s they hit that limit which was 4.50 so not even 4.56 but then reading further they all state that software upgrade / update from dealer fixed and allowed the change to 5.13s without your dashboard looking like a Christmas tree and loosing ABS, Regen, ect.
