Well another SadRobot adventure begins.

DAY 1: Let It Snow (but also enough with the snow already)

With the Jeep packed and ready to go I put on my flip flops and headed out towards Vegas. Some may recall last year's roadtrip debacle that took me 11 hours to go 4 hours. This time there were no traffic delays and I booked it to Cedar City in hopes of beating the incoming storm. I made great time so decided to stop at Kolob Canyons.

The storm hit just as I got into town. Flip flop regret starts to set in. I weathered the storm for what I guess is now the annual Centro pizza run.

Next stop Moab. I'll be hitting a couple of BOH trails, a few non BOH trails and seeing some dinosaurs. Stay tuned......

Nice…except I don’t see any pepperoni on that “pizza”. Looking forward to your pics.

Welcome to Cedar City, ... except you're likely already on your way to Moab as I type this. I was driving home from work in that snowstorm about the time you took that picture yesterday.

Try the Jailhouse Cafe in Moab, great breakfast. Are you taking Highway 12?
That’s the truth! One of my favorite stops for breakfast! And love the diner look.

DAY 2: Oh the weather outside is weather

Today started with more snow. My Jeep had about 3 inches of snow on it when I got outside. Then it snowed, sleeted and rained for the 4.5 hour drive out to Moab. At one point traffic stopped completely because a tractor trailer tipped over and lost an axle. I think the last time I had to drive through something like this was way back in my college days in Rochester, NY.

I made it to Moab and met up with @AVGeek99 and we took a drive out to a potential camping spot. Google maps took sent us on a wrong turn and we ended up not where we were supposed to be and then it started snowing.

2 hours later we made it to the camping spot. While it was not a great spot to base out of because of the long drive, the view was pretty amazing.

It was getting late so we headed back towards town to meet up with the rest of the group who had scouted out a more practical camping spot.

DAY 3: Elephant Hill (an all day event)

This day started with a long drive out to Elephant Hill. Super fun trail. There's a great hike at the end that we managed to finish just as the hail started coming down.

We took a bit of a detour to check on Confluence Overlook where the Green and Colorado rivers meet.

We finished up right before the sun started to set. The last climb out is a bit of a nail biter for sure. A lot of backing up to go forward nonsense.

Trail complete! Now this is where things get a little SadRobot-y. I went to re-connect my Rock Krawler swaybar links and the bushings on both sides were missing. I have no idea how this could have happened. I've been running these quick disconnects for a couple years now and never had an issue.

With no other option I headed back to Moab with the swaybar disconnected. Tomorrow's mission is to call around town and see if any shop has these bushings in stock. I'd rather not drive back to California with a disconnected swaybar.

If anyone knows of a shop in Moab who can help me out please let me know.

I'll be back! Most likely stopping at Centro again on the drive back home.
