I was going to get the EVO manual disconnect. Hard to find a used Rubi swaybar under $700 though. At that point might as well get anti-rocks.
Around here they are about $400. Saw one the other day for a $100

Exploring Sand Hollow.
Any buddy know a better sun glasses for the sand dunes.
My wife was freaking out because she could not see the definition of the dunes.
To her it was blurry and undefined.
I was fine.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
We ended up going in person to the visitor center. We also had recreation.gov issues.
I think the Recreation.gov app was programmed by a 7 year old using a Commodore 64 PC. It is one of the worse apps I have used. Who ever signed off on it and paid the firm to make it needs to be put in handcuffs and sent to prison. There is no excuse for the app to be this buggy and hard to use. I am not a person that gets frustrated easily. Yet here I am in the Moab dinner, it to 20 munites to secure my permit for Elephant Hill. There were 18 permits available. I then try to secure a permit for my bud Gary, the app kept shutting down, and getting caught in a circle, where I would click the link to move to the next tab and it would send me back to the beginning. By the time I was able to complete the permit for Gary, all the permits were gone. Of course I have already paid for my permit, so I was out the cost of the fee, and because Gary did not get a permit we were not going to run the trail. I had run it in the past already. I had to stand up and walk off my frustration as I almost rage ripped my phone in half.

DAY 4: Up On The Roof

Well the mission to find a RK bushing today was a failure. I will give it one more shot on Monday when shops open and if not will just drive home without them.

So off we went up to Dome Plateau. I pulled my swaybar links off because they were just hanging there doing nothing anyway. That's when I discovered they are not the same length. I'm hoping someone smarter than I can tell me why the shop that installed these did this and how it has been affecting the ride of my Jeep. The passenger side link is longer than the driver side:

We aired down and headed to Owl Draw Upland which had some fun obstacles and then made our way over to Caves Spring.

Then it was off to the overlook:

Next up is Hells Roaring Canyon, maybe some dinosaurs and an attempt to make it out to Steelbender if there is time.

Can you send me a link to where you saw one for $100? I have family that live up that way so maybe they could go grab it for me.

The permit was a bit confusing. It's supposed to be 3 vehicles per permit but when we went in we each got a hand written permit from the ranger. There was also no fee.

I had read that you can only go in groups of 3 and if there was a 4th you needed to spread out by 30 minutes. When the ranger gave his speech he told us we can all go together but on the 2 way sections just split up 2/2 if we run into another group so we don't hold others up. Seems like the rules over there have changed in recent years.

If you have been hooking it up like that without forcing it, that means there's a little twist in the sway bar. Not a big deal.

Thanks all for the advice. I learned today that if you are going to have a mechanical issue the worse place to have it is in Moab on a weekend.

I’ll check the hardware store tomorrow and if I can’t find anything I’ll just drive home disconnected. No time to order bushings and have them delivered here by Monday.

I’ve lost faith in these RK disconnects. I can’t be replacing bushings every time I disconnect them. Now it’s time to decide between anti-rocks, autolynx or a manual Rubi swaybar.
Great photos!!! Glad yall made it out to the secret camp on green river!
I have friends that run anti-rock and autolynx.. for overall convenience to price ratio autolynx is the way.. most folks that run Mojave have them these days as their first upgrade.. anti-rock does incorporate a bit more sway, but does have the convenience of being able to go from trail to highway without getting out… Since you’re in California and off-road worthy that might be worthy enough for you to invest in… I have a Rubicon and am considering autolynx because the electric disconnect sometimes does not do the job when you want it to. It’s convenient enough to disengage/engage them when I’m airing down or up.

I was leaning towards Autolynx but I’d have to cut a hole in my metal fender liners to make them work and I don’t really have the right tools to do something like that.

Looks like the $100 one is gone put here are 3 between $300 to $500.
I got mine at a 4x4 shop for $300.
Make sure you take it apart and clean and re-grease.
Because I went pneumatic and can regulate the air pressure I added a stronger return spring.
I think I am running about 60 psi.
I did a bench test to find out what psi would disconnect the sway bar.

We have an Autolynx on our Mojave. I think an Autolynx on a Rubicon would be nice. It would effectivly do away with the annoying reconnecting of the electronic sway bar every time speed got 1 mph too high.

Here are some of the parts I used to make the disconnect.
I made my own plate and extension rod.
On the cylinder one port will be to extend the rod and the other will be a vent that needs a hose up into the engine compartment with a filter.
A double acting cylinder is much easier to vent than the single acting one I chose.
