I just had the Jeep lifted 3.5 inches with 37" Tires and I would like to do a 2-tone fender for it. I was wondering if anyone has some good options with maybe some pictures they can share. Wanted some kind of red screen with a black fender. Is it simple to change from the plastic to the metal? Just trying to get some ideas.

Thanks
Chris

Nothing really difficult about the install. Plenty of options, you can just rattle can the grills on any set they are a separate piece.

I bought and installed cheap Amazon inner fenders. They fit, but it was a lot of bending, prying, and drilling. I recommend getting something quality and made in America.

You're likely going to have difficulty finding exactly what you want but you can rattle-can paint a black fender liner to be exactly how you want.

A benefit of taking the rattle can route is that an inner fender is going to get rock chips, it's just a fact of life. If you remember the brand/color you used it's just a matter of cleaning, a tiny bit of spot sanding then a quick touch-up squirt and you're good as new.

Not arguing with the rattle can theory buuuuut.....
I have a buddy who purchased his unfinished to save a few bucks (literally a few) stating the exact same thing as what's been said here. I purchased a set of black ones with silver aluminum accent plates. I painted my plates with auto paint and covered in a few coats of clear. He doesn't off road as much as I do, plus I have a quarter mile gravel drive and he is constantly going back over his to cover the paint chips. I have zero chips on mine, black and painted surface. So if what they're saying is true, this means he must not have used a good quality auto paint, I assume.

As far as swapping from plastic to metal, you might need to use a nutsert depending on what you buy. I had to add one nutsert to each side of mine because the Fishbone had a screw hole that went into a regular hole that wasn't threaded. Still an easy swap but I had to buy a nutsert tool (not too expensive).

The only parts I have missing paint is the screw heads and most of that came from the allen wrench when I installed them. See photo.

I've had extremely good luck with Duplicolor's black "undercoating". A lot of times it comes down to prep and priming to ensure solid ahesion.

I also want the one with some mesh.
I'm planning on UV rock lights, so I can paint some of the mesh with either reactive or glow paint. It'll still look black during the day. But glows with the UV.

Do you think this inner fender kit would work with my Black Rocksport shocks?

Not totally sure, the Metalcloak Blacks give you the option to mount the resi in front or back. You would have to play with the placement and possibly do some minor trimming. I don’t think it would be too difficult. The CavFab liners are aluminum so they are easy to cut.
