You sound triggered. I must’ve touched a nerve. Remember you quoted me first and came after me if it doesn’t apply to you what are you worried about?
Fairly certain I answered the question you posed in your first post in my initial reply.

I'm certainly not triggered, and I can sympathize with your situation. I do disagree with your categorization of all 4xe owners into a political group. I think you'll find quite a few on here with varied views of the topics you are bringing up.

Realistically, I'm just trying to help OP with the issue he came here for input on.

That’s called a rhetorical question .I didn’t ask your opinion on anything. I made a statement and you jumped in and quoted me . In my opinion, trying to disable auto shut off is wrong and possibly illegal and is the exact opposite of the intention of 4Xe.

Illegal, wrong, and opposite of the intent of the 4xE? My intent when I chose the 4XE so I could get more torque, accelerate/drive faster, and save some money on gas. The first two have been a success. The gas mileage seems to be a wash.

There are occasions when I’m in the jeep for an extended amount of time parked I want the AC in the summer, the heater in the winter, and I want some music. When I feel like saving the earth, I ride my bicycle, which doesn’t have huge lithium batteries in it.

my money is on this being a CYA protect the people from themselves feature added for the same reason that triple Horn honk crap is there. So grandpa doesn’t leave the thing running in the garage and suffocate himself.

When you are in the idling Jeep a throttle tap might reset the timer. The big rigs with timed idle shut downs do.

Interesting thought. My Jeep's out of town or I'd give it a try tonight.

Sidebar, IIRC, the 4xe won't actually rev even engine on in park.

Doesn’t sound promising, a clutch push does also on some so maybe out of, then back into park ?

I’ll look into the throttle tap, thanks.
If there are any workarounds that are completely hands free I’m down to try it I’m not stuck on one solution

yes, I know what the issue is. It turns off after 30 minutes to save energy and the environment. We just got a lecture in California about getting rid of drive-through windows because of all the idling and how it’s killing the environment. The 4XE is designed for optimum efficiency. You should not tamper with it and disable it. That would be hypocritical. Same with your remote start. Having your vehicle run sitting in an empty parking lot just so it could be a little more comfortable when you get in is not helping the environment. Practice what you preach.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I don't recall the OP saying he bought a 4XE to help the environment.

And as someone that has a 392, it's not likely that anyone is going to take your opinion about saving the earth seriously anyway. Practice what you preach, indeed.

On the 4XE I found that if I idle too long, the Jeep completely turns off and sometimes I want it to stay on.

I read somewhere that if the doors are removed, the 4XE will not auto turn off.

Im thinking that if I can wire in a double pole single throw switch (or relay) to break the connection on the wires associated with pins 17 & 18 on the door harness I should be able to stop it from auto shutting off by flipping a switch.

Has anyone tried something like this? Would pins 17 & 18 be enough? Would doing one door be good enough? Or would I need to do both?

Thread where I got the info for specific pins on the harness:
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...s-my-doors-are-all-attached-and-closed.81300/
Just unplug the door harness when you need to keep the Wrangler running beyond the 30 minutes.

Fiddling and splicing with the wires might cause grief.

If you bought a 4XE, it’s all about the environment and saving gas and the planet. Why would you want to disable ? everybody has to do their part to save the planet. Don’t be a hypocrite
the 4xe is quite the opposite, it's a gas guzzler sticking it to the greenies, and they don't like it one bit.

Nothing like when you pull up to a charger and people are yelling, sir sir this is for EVs only, jump out plug in, and leave them to inspect.

Upon return if there are any spectators, click E-Save and let that cold engine fire up spewing smoke as you drive off.

The 4xe is the ultimate troll machine, pissing off gas Wranglers owners and greenies all at the same time.

My option bothered you enough to take time to quote me and give me you unwanted criticism. Sounds like you got triggered some how. Why would what I drive matter . Common. Sense. Dictates if you buy a 4XE you care about the environment and gas mileage. Disabling features that do the opposite makes no sense. If I was complaining about gas mileage I wouldn’t buy a 392. If my opinion was not taken seriously it wouldn’t bother you so much. Think about it.

You’re saying the opposite of Jeep marketing. So in your world the 4Xe is a gas hog and my 392 I guess would be the greenie vehicle of choice. I like your thinking. You should run for governor of CA.

Literally nothing said to or about me bothers me. I don’t give two shits about any opinion that I don’t ask for.

I merely pointed out the hypocrisy of preaching “save the environment” while driving the least environmentally friendly Jeep on earth.

Like it or not, not everyone buys a hybrid to save the earth, and the OP clearly stated why he chose the model he did, and it had nothing to do with what your common sense dictates.
