I really feel the gimmick of not offering LEDs on Sport trim is a bad play for FCA, just not warranted.
Yeah, i think they do it so youll spend more coin and go for sahara or rubicon. I have a sahara and have converted everything to led except for the headlights which i already ordered from hidprojectors.com; i have diodide drl, morimoto fog lights and mopar led tail lights all bought individually and i have spent almost as much as the led package. I took my sahara off the lot and didnt want to wait to custom order. The main reason why i was ok for not having that package is because even though the headlights are bright and awesome i wanted to have it custom done and the headlights alone are as much as the led package but for any prospect wrangler owner i do recommend getting the package, is totally worth it and you save the hassle of ordering individually. On the plus side if after my lease i want to get a rubicon ill order without the led package and transfer my leds and ill save the money on my next build.

lol you and me both, except I've done that maybe a dozen times already since I've had my JL. You should see my tailgate and my horrible attempts at spot-patching the paint job. Also chipped a little bit of the hardtop off at some point - don't know how that happened.

But hey, it's life - cars are meant to take a beating, and the way I look at it, jeeps especially are gonna get dinged up and scratched and have all sorts of battle scars and stories to tell. My wife and I already have some good laughs, mostly dealing with getting this darn hard top on and off.
Do you guys take your top off with the tail gate opened?

I used to do that with my JK and it lead to lots of scratches. I tried the technique in the quadratec video where you start with the window opened and after you clear the tire completely stop - put the window down - then finish taking off. Haven't had as much trouble this way.

Cheers

I got soft top only because I don't have a garage to fiddle with top swapping, but also because I didn't want to deal with top swapping in the first place. Just a few quick latches, slide out three windows and bam, full top down. Easy up, rinse repeat as needed :)

NOTE: The DRL wiring is not in place on the Sport trims... or at least not all the way to the lights. I picked up a pair of LED take off headlights and the install was simple but I have no halo/DRL. I noticed that the LED headlights have 4 prongs (out of 6) and the halogen ones only have 3 prongs. The connection is plug and play but I am only feeding 3 of the 4 prongs on the connection (if that makes sense).

The LED headlight package you can buy says it comes with a wiring harness. Not sure where this would connect into the Jeep as my current harness only has 3 wires feeding the connector and I haven't tried to trace it back in.

Has anyone with a Sport or Sport S trim got the OEM LEDs yet? If so - do you have your Halos working?

I am also interested in seeing the light patterns against a wall for both regular and high beams. The bottom portion of the light pattern really cuts out on me with high beams and I am not just talking about the fogs going off. If someone with the LED package could show the pattern against a wall from 10 feet or so that would be much appreciated.

Cheers! and Happy Fathers Day!

EDIT: Interested in either picking up the harness that comes with the package or maybe just running my own 4rth feed to the connector - perhaps with engine on power - like a DRL.

The way you describe is MUCH better, but unfortunately I have to take the top off by myself 99% of the time :(

Not fun, and it's necessary to have the tailgate open.

(Yet another shameless plug: looking to buy a soft top!!! I'm in PA, message me!! lol)

Bought the mopar black accents . Did not like the silver. Debating about keeping the silver on the bumper. Thoughts?

I vinyl wrapped mines and i included the fog light rings. I did a full chrome delete. Since you bought the black accents you should go for the whole look and delete the fog rings. Looks more aggresive.

Im sure a proffesional auto electrician can make it happen. The sport comes with drl on the fenders so im sure a line can be fed to the headlights.

Finally took it out on some trails. I was pretty impressed with what it could do stock.

Yeah - there is a site with wiring diagrams that I am going to take a look at. No DRL on the fenders either. I can turn them on with the switch but I think thats different than DRL. I think something similar applies at the fender. You have a Sahara right? How many wires go to your switchback? I think its 4 on the Sahara/Rubicon trims and 3 on the Sport trims but I haven't looked up the wiring yet.

Unfortunately the sahara doesnt have switchbacks on a single bulb. There are 2 bulbs on the fender. One is a drl and one is a turn signal.
