Hey guys, let me preface this by saying I have the black perforated leather seats offered as an option on top of the cloth for the rubicon trim. Yesterday I noticed a small hole in the left side of the front drivers side seat. I understand that its likely from being compressed and decompressed frequently with each entry/exit of my jeep but come on it’s only been 25k miles. This is frustrating but would be substantially less frustrating if it’s still covered under warranty- thoughts?

Yikes. It’s totally going to depend on your dealer.

If it’s not covered, go to a shop that specializes in automotive upholstery. They can probably install some kind of patch/panel on that side that will cover the damage and prevent a recurrence. And a good shop will make it look like it came that way from the factroy. Good luck.

Is that part of the seat leather or vinyl? I've never seen leather do that so quickly. Although I have seen the stitching come apart on the Jeep leather seats. I'm interested in how this plays out, good luck.

That rip is in the vinyl bolster. Surprised at only 25 k miles, the perforated seats are supposed to be made by Katskins.

Chris, Please let us know how it goes with the warranty coverage. If not covered and you are close to Marietta, Georgia there is leather shop that repaired my wife's E-550 AMG with 28k miles that had a worst puncture tear on the perforated passenger seat. He also reconditioned both front seats to like new for a perfect match for around one hundred and fifty. If needed I forward you the shop info as I kept their card in her vehicle.
