Our 2020 Rubi with ACC needed to be recalibrated when the windshield was replaced - doesnt mean anything was out of order, but it was not optional - it needed to be checked and verified with windshield replacement
Just because the company told you it was required doesn't mean it's actually required is my point. These companies are in the business of making money so they love to tell you it requires 800 bucks to recalibrate but the service manual from the manufacturer says otherwise.

It's required to get your vehicle recalibrated if it has been lifted with larger tires to avoid the ACC throwing a code. Trust me, I speak from experience as someone who has replaced multiple windshields and dealt with the inconvenience of sending the car back to the dealership for recalibration.

I'm on 39s with 3 inch lift, no recalibration needed yet and no codes, 30k miles in and a windshield replaced.

Did they recalibrate it at your house first and then it throw a code? I've heard that before that the computer is expecting certain heights and angles for the recalibration so lifting and tires throws it off during the recal.

Had to be done at the dealer. There is a flash needed that only their scantool can provide. Afterward, I had no more ghost brakings which ultimately made the hassle worthwhile.

in the end, it is use case dependent

Surf - need racks? so hardtop or exoskeleton (body color, SOT, etc)
Camp - in vehicle (want hdtp), have trailer or want to rent trailer? (get factory tow/hitch)

if camping in vehicle, the 4xe has a hump that requires you to build a platform to level out the sleeping area --- not a big deal, but be advised. [read overlanding forum]

Agree on LED headlights. i have found cloth seats more comfortable and less hot, so that is where I have saved (or repurposed $2k on options) although the leather with hardtop definitely has a more refined "jeep" experience

I like the 4xe, but agree there are some drawbacks and with the drop from 7500 to 3750 and increases over the years that jeep has on the 4xe (compared to gas), you need to run the numbers. As many have said, the power/torque is nice, but I still prefer the 6cyl over 4cyl (which is what runs when out of battery) [read 4xe forum]. 25 miles of range for me is fine...and 110v charging overnight gets me to 100%... if you want to spend the money you could get more range per day with certain use cases...i.e. 25 miles in morning...3hr Level 2 charge and 25 miles in evening...

Agree with ordering --- it is not only getting you a good deal, but you are not paying for options that you may not want...so that really makes your money go farther...

Willys '24 does look to be a very nice option...

Thank you so much for the great advice. I have no putting a custom order experience before and I don't know why but I had a kind of it would cost more money reputation in my mind. But this community changed it. Appreciated your help.

@Jimbits78 I can plug in and charge it where I am living at but I think you asked a good question about benefiting the full electric mode, since I am not sure about that and seems like this is not a must have for me.

Also, I haven't known that 2024 models will come out with standard safety features. I tried to add advanced safety packages on Jeep website configurator and tried to search vehicles nationwide equipped with that but I only could find a few which are really expensive for me.
You and me both! I looked at buying a replacement for our 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Altitude WITH the safety package I have on our Overland, it was CRAZY expensive, especially in the Rubican. . . enough that with the last two year's price increases, I decided we were nuts to consider upgrading from our '21!

Battery never leaves you with 2.0 only, as it never runs flat. Even when electric only mode is off you still have the full 375 HP, 470ft lbs of torque.

Hello everyone,
I am planning to purchase my first Jeep Wrangler. I am really a rookie. And after I saw lots of packages and modifications, I am overwhelmed and I need your thoughts. Now, I am using a Ford Explorer Timberline with some safety options like blind spot detection, forward-collision preventer, adaptive speed control and 360 camera. I know, I won't have these fancy options with a Wrangler. And I don't know if I can have installed later...
I am going to use Jeep for daily trips, surfing, camping, and exploring around but at least for now I don't think that I can do rock climbing with it, I am not at that stage yet :) I tested a Rubicon and Sahara 4xe a few days ago. I felt the power of Rubicon and its' toughness, on the other hand Sahara was very smooth and agile.

I found these 2 options and I can't go higher in terms of budget:

Rubicon: https://www.dallasdodge.net/invento...door-4x4-4x4-sport-utility-1c4hjxfg8pw609177/
Sahara 4xe: https://www.dallasdodge.net/invento...hara-4x4-4x4-sport-utility-1c4jjxp61pw661953/

I wanted to hear your thoughts about these two and also must have factory modifications, that you think it is hard to do later.

Thank you so much for your time and thoughts!
As a owner of a Sahara 4xe the electric portion is disappointing. Only 35 miles at best on a charge. I did not buy it for electric only driving but would not do it again. In fact picking up a new 23 tomorrow with a 3.6

My opinion: Rubicon if u want to off road with the most capability and Sahara for the more luxurious mall crawler vehicle. Me I'm an off roader. Here's my 3 day old JLR and then the 1st stage of my build:
