I wonder if now the license plate readers the Police Department will not work on your plate since it is so high???

The car mounted ones probably won't, the fixed mounts like at intersections probably will.

Finished my badland apex install. Had the winch installed but changed out the wire for synthetic and also had to wire in the relay to the aux. don’t worry about the hodgepodge of wiring some of that stuff will be hidden soon enough.

As of 1st Jan. 2017, PA eliminated the issuance and use of annual registration stickers. The ongoing rollout of automated license plate readers across local, county and state law enforcement jurisdictions had reached a point of saturation whereby the live monitoring the technology accommodates served to render said stickers redundant.

Similar occurred with respect to eliminating all toll booth workers on our turnpike. Plate-reading cameras act to ding one's E-ZPass account, or mail the toll invoice(s) to the registered owner of the vehicle in question. That was the plan all along; the effects of the pandemic simply accelerated the State's efforts in the matter.

Finished my FTM-400 install...

Had to fabricate a bracket for under the passenger seat. Worked out very well.

Installed everything behind the dash/uconnect system

Passenger side firewall is no joke but the extra wire channel keeps everything clean


Ran all the antenna cables nicely within the pannels.


The antenna folds over nicely and found a cable stay at home depot that secures the antenna to the spare tire carrier

Nicely done! Very clean. Just got my Technician & General licenses last week. Still waiting for them to be posted by the FCC. What's your opinion on the FTM-400? Have been looking at different mobile radios; Yaesu is in the top. All I have at the moment is a Baofeng and trying to figure out what to get for a "real" radio. Figure I will get more use out of a mobile than a base station unit for the time being.

What antenna are you running? Also, what is your dash mount? I have a molle panel overhead as well as a Vector bar on the dash. Thanks.

I successfully emasculated my wrangler 392XR while simultaneously making it the fastest stock(ish) wrangler on the planet, kind of.

The tires are comically small on this thing, but it rides so killer. Wheels at 34 lbs and the 32” tall (probably 31” tall under weight) 305/50/20 Toyo street tires are only 44 lbs.
