Absolutely. So many people refuse to blame Ford and let them blame the pandemic on everything. All of this was Ford’s unbelievably bad planning for the Bronco. There are 2 of us here from Colorado in the thread who were there in the reservations first month. He gave up and our order still to this day does not have a vin, it was reserved 889 days ago. I left it open to see how long they can kick the can down the road on the order for a laugh. All Ford has done is make us love our new Jeeps and confirm we will never buy our first Ford.
Sad, an utter cluster. Any time Bronco comes up in conversation I want to put a bag over my head.

As an oj owner, it sounded great though as you made visits to all the gas stations.
To put it in perspective, my 392 has 50 or 60 More than Twice the HP and gets better mileage. My shortest owned vehicle,( not including one that was stolen, and one that required minimum 100 octane that was discontinued ) traded it in on a Dodge PU I have owned for 28 years since.

This.

I've been watching the Bronco for two years now. It's a solid build plan. That Ecoboost powertrain is fantastic (not too long ago I remember marveling at it on the racing venues). I was never surprised that Ford bungled the launch. But I expect to be visiting my local dealer again by beginning of the summer.

The Wrangler, on the other hand, continues its slow march to becoming a car. I bought a 22 Rubicon last year, and its electrical circuits/programming are a nightmare. Stellantis (or whoever owns them now) is still trying to figure out a lot of things, and they may decide that the "four-wheel-drive-minivan" theme will bring them the greatest marketshare. More power to them. I've kept buying them for almost 20 years thinking they'll somehow still be the old AMC product. But I'm about done.

I don't mean this as throwing shade on Wranglers (or those of us that own them), I'm just saying its hard for the Wrangler product to throw stones at the Bronco product. And I guess I'm a little salty over the way the Jeep brand (and its series of corporate owners) has treated a good product.
If you think Wrangler is on its way to becoming a car, then Bronco is leading the way.

Thing is, the entire Bronco product development and launch was about throwing stones at Wrangler. And it failed. Miserably.

As a Ford retiree I find the the ongoing production & supply issues with Bronco inexcusable. They have known for nearly seven years what they needed and when to make all of the options and features go. They are still using the pandemic as an excuse, but the mess started way before that. Ford's current issues with production & quality fall right at the feet of Bill Ford Jr., who has never since he took charge run the Company effectively or efficiently. Why the Board lets this continue is inexplicable. I feel very bad for the good folks who are so enthusiastic about the Bronco, have been so patiently waiting for the spec they want and have repeatedly been disappointed, delayed, gouged by Ford's rapacious dealer body and now, after all this, basically told to pound sand. It's outrageous.
Yup. Ford is a monarchy: if you have a Ford surame, you can do no wrong.

Overall, Ford has a shitty track record picking, grooming and nominating its presidents.

Remember Mark Fields? Ford spent ten years grooming him for the top job. But he was so bad he lasted only 18 months. Gawd, what a useless individual.

Ford also spent a long time grooming Jim Farley. He is a great marketer, but has proved to be a mediocre president at best. Ford won’t get rid of him unless he screws up royally, so chances are they will be stuck with him for a very long time.

Just being devils advocate here, Isn’t there a thread on this forum called the 2023 Jeep Order waiting/venting room that is 64 pages long? Fords Bronco problems are not just Fords. The supply chain is broken thanks to C19 and every one is feeling it.

On the other hand, you are 100% correct with the bronco soft top, engine complexity, et.al. If you’re on the fence, keep/get a Jeep and wait for Ford to work the bugs out. I’d still take a Ford service department over aJeep (trust me at some point both will be there).

I have been a supplier to many of the major automakers. Ford was my least favorite to work with.

The organization is filled with intrigue; internal politics rule the day. Everyone is constantly plotting how to stab his fellow coworker on the back. It is a miracle Ford is able to put out any product at all.

Ford had the dubious distinction of issuing the most recalls in 2022 and in 2021. And nearly ALL their product launches are marred by fire risks.

No, thank you.

Farley came out of Jim Press's team at Lexus and to me was a rare bright spot. We'll see how this pans out. They just keep making the same mistakes with leaders over & over. The internal gene pool is limited to either finance or marketing, usually the former. The result is a constant race to the lowest cost & common denominator. The only really sharp guy they've had in the last 40 years was Alan Mulally and as soon as he retired they went right back to what they'd been doing before and now they have the same results. You'll notice the German and Japanese auto brands leadership generally comes out of engineering.

Yes, there is. I know because I started that thread. :) But unlike the stories you've read here where people have been waiting a year, or two years for their Bronco I had my Wrangler in 4 months (less if you factor in the fact that I ordered in July before the new model years hit the assembly line). Granted, those 4 months felt like one or two years, but... At this point, it can't just be a question of COVID and supply chain issues. Ford is bungling this.

Yup, I agree. Alan Mulally was the best President Ford had in the past 50 years.

I own a first-year JLU Sahara as well: I’ve had zero issues... once I replaced those cheap batteries after 18 months.

The 3+ year-old Firecracker Red paint looks as shiny today as the day the Jeep rolled off the showroom, and the vehicle remains totally rattle free.

I’ve been known to trade vehicles every 2-3 years, but I don’t really want to get rid of this one.

Keep it! It'll go the distance! I've got a 15 year old JKUR with 180k on it and it still runs like new. The JL is better in every way and I think it will last even longer.

Gorgeous Jeep! Love the rims!

I like the rims too. But rattle free must be an option I didn't get.

My three-year-old JL remains rattle —and squeak— free.

Knock on wood!

I had ordered my Bronco 13 months ago and yesterday went to pick it up.
Upon inspection saw the passenger side rear panel where glass goes on hard top was loose, meant broken.
My lifted 23 sport in sarge green with 35 inch tires was parked next to my new Bronco with Sasquatch package, and Jeep looked so much better. I didn’t test drive the Bronco much but it is little more roomy but I didn’t feel that much more pep from V6 twin turbo as I was expecting.
I will pick it up next week and let’s see how it compares.
