Headliner is on my list to do. Did you use Metra adapters? Did you need to re-pin them to get the wiring correct? Interested in how prevalent the issue is.
In the instructions, they state that the wiring may look incorrect, but it is not. I followed the directions and had no problem. Took less than an hour to fully install. Great mod, big improvement in sound fidelity.

Agreed, upgrade well worth it. I needed to reverse all the Metra adapter pins to align the +/- correctly.

A lot of people on IPhones have a setting turned on in “music settings” in the main phone menu that’s called “sound check”, which should be turned off. That in itself will greatly increase your music quality/output when listening to sources being played from the phone. Also turn off any EQ settings on the phone source, let all that be controlled by the head unit.
pretty sure those settings are for the “apple music” app, and not for the majority of people that use spotify/pandora/amazon etc.

Those are some odd “Tone” settings. Were those adjusted to help your listening experience with FM/HD radio or Satellite radio or for music from your phone like Apple music or other services, or all three in general?

My personal preference for music is:
1. Bass is +1
2. Mid range is -2
3. Treble is +9
I’m a bass junkie and more so a high-hat cymbal fanatic. I never listen to satellite radio or the AM/FM sources at all. It’s all Apple Music in lossless mode.

Might want to give that a try. Also may want to turn off the UConnect setting of speed/volume amplification, where the volume rises or lowers as you drive or slow down and or come to a stop.
That's all good info and I'll give them a try.
The tone settings were set when listening to SXM.

The JL/JT pods come with adapters/harnesses that have wires switched. I find it hard to understand, why would Jeep switch color coding.

I think it was more a manufacturing issue with the adapters than with Jeep changing the color coding. There are several articles of folks finding the same issue. My sound quality improved after swapping the wires. Yours could be fine.

On the 2023 that I just did an install on, the dash speakers are out of phase with the lower dash and rear sound bar drivers. Some manufactures do that for various reasons and can be not as consequential as some people make it out to be.

No I did not need to rewire. The directions state that it may appear to be wired incorrectly, but it will work. Just following their instructions made the install very simple.
