The more extras selected, the more the chances of possible delays. Some options are more prone for delays than others. I appears that anyone with safety groups tend to linger here longer. Ordered Earl 2D Sport 3.6 MT and it entered production 6 weeks after order.

She passes the VINs on to Cara and then Cara sends those VINs to Jeff and he drives the Jeeps to storage to be held there for a week or 3 until defeat sets in so bad you stop checking the tracker. At that point, Cara puts you in TBD and your Jeep magically shows up.

Antiquated views in this case refers to Toyota’s blindly loyal customers that still believe Toyota’s reliability is far away better than all other brands. In fact, over the last half decade, Toyota has been dethroned in brand reliability rankings several times, and reliability scores of the competition’s trucks (and cars) have vastly improved and are now within a few points (out of 100) of Toyota’s, and the competition offers better payload capacity, better towing capacity, more efficient engines, better transmissions, fully boxed frames (Tacoma is still C channel in the rear), better brakes (responsive, four wheel disc brakes instead of soft, spongey brakes with rear drums), better interiors, and better technology.

That’s what happens when you rest on your laurels, I suppose.

Are there updates on weekends or nothing until Monday?

They do update every day including weekends.
Also remember that the trackers are one day behind the actual date, so tomorrow (Saturday) will show whatever actually occurred today (Friday). Sunday and Monday will have updates but less than the other days because the factories work reduced schedules on Saturdays and Sundays (shown on trackers Sunday and Monday).

I just got put in TBD after my delivery window was pushed 3 times, hopefully that means next week now ? ?

I have a 22 TRD Tacoma and love it. have about 15k miles and it is the six speed. It is the only truck I know of besides the gladiator you can get a manual transmission and 4x4. I paid 39k for it and could sell it tomorrow for 40k used. What tacoma have you driven that hurt you?

Tacoma is not best-in-class in a single metric, not even quality and reliability (where it comes in second-to-last), a metric on which the brand has built its reputation.

As far as reviews go, it is dead last in Car & Driver's ratings, and only above Nissan in MotorTrend's rankings (and the 2022 Nissan Frontier was the first year of a complete redesign). Words like "old" and "ancient" get thrown around in the MT and C&D reviews of the 2022 Tacoma.

It is toward the bottom of the class in power and torque, while also sitting toward the bottom of class in fuel economy, and being worst-in-class in the sprint to 60mph, owing to its horrible transmission. The transfer case hangs down below the frame rails.

It is second-to-last in towing capacity and middle of the pack in payload capacity.

It is the only mid-size truck (the Honda Ridgeline is not a truck) that still uses a C-channel in part of the chassis, where every other competitor is using a fully-boxed chassis.

It is the only mid-size truck without four-wheel disc brakes, and the brakes are spongey and grabby.

The only metric that Tacoma may hold over its competition is resale value, and I would say that Gladiator may end up giving it a run for its money, as Wranglers hold their value especially well.

The numbers don't lie... This is all the result of Toyota resting on its laurels, ignoring the marketplace, ignoring innovation, and refusing to stay current for fear of change, because change might impact reliability.

Oh shit. I do this at work. I better check on my customer's part he ordered months ago that the factory still hasn't shipped.

The last time I checked it the expected ship date had passed and the factory wouldn't update it for me.

(I work with overhead cranes, if any one was curious)

I wonder if my customers feel the same way I do when their hoists still haven't shipped. Hmm. Shit, am I the Cara in this situation? ?

I checked the site with my old VIN and was able to download that build sheet. My curiosity has me wondering if my build sheet is in the process of being generated. What do you all think?
