Reading some SEMA 2022 coverage and this photo caught my attention, if you zoom in on the back window it looks like there is a new rhino rack with backbone that doesn’t need drilling through the hard top?

I can’t find any info online, anyone find details yet? A no drill with backbone would be exactly what I’m looking for.

Hmmm….. Guess I shouldn’t have skipped SEMA this year.

I was just looking at the Rhino rack options yesterday, wishing for a no-drill option, and was ready to write them off. But now it seems they may have gone and totally redeemed themselves!!

If it's at SEMA like that it's probably not on the market yet. I haven't seen any others out there. Drilling the top is too much for me so I'll be watching this

Which hall is this from? I'm going to SEMA tomorrow, I could go ask at that booth if you know where it is.

Unsure where it’s at, I just found the photo on a random article covering the event online.

Looks like the same way frontrunner has , clamping onto the gutters. If thats the case, it won’t be able to hold much weight.

My concern as well, however it says no drill and says backbone so I was hoping they came up with some fancy new backbone option to tie the backbone in by sandwiching the top mounts somehow?

It clamps to the rain gutters on the side. Let me know what specific questions that you have. I don't have a hard top, so not sure the right questions to ask.

Ask how it ties into the backbone system without drilling now.
The backbone is in the hardtop interior. You had to drill through the hardtop to tie the clamps and the backbone together.

Hmmm... interesting. I had the drill through version on my previous JL and I can tell you that thing is stout. You can dance the jig on that roof rack and it is incredibly solid. I can't imagine a gutter mount system having the same load capability.

Picts/asking about the interior backbone and what the weight ratings are for static and dynamic loads.
