Why did you have to remove the front grille? Is that required for a headlamp change even for the standard bulbs or was there additional work to do?

I'm so fed up with my standard JL headlamps at night - I think I'd be better off hanging out my window with my cellphone flashlight!

I’ve always had to remove the grille to replace the headlight bulbs. I believe it’s necessary. Really easy to do though.

I was able to replace the turning signals without removing the grille. You can access those under the fenders.

That Amazon link you sent, says does not fit 2019. What year is your JL?

I've been trying to decide on which LED bulbs to get for months... Gonna have to make a choice soon with winter coming and lots of night driving after work. How is it with the high beam on? I've noticed my stock halogen's high beam point up at the sky which makes it seem like it's even dimmer than the low beam, hoping it's a bulb problem and not the reflector design itself because I'd like to keep the reflectors with the little jeep grill in them instead of going to a projector system.

Easiest mod ever. Worth the $50 and 30-45 min install

I would be curious if snow builds up on these. Key reason I have halogens.

Because LED’s don’t produce heat like halogens do. So in snowy climates the snow will build up on the LED headlights and reduce visibility as opposed to melting away. The exact reason why I run halogens in the winter and put my LED’s back on for the summer.
