This does not mean that transparency shouldn’t be the policy. Honesty is almost always the best policy.
I am not saying be dishonest, providing too much information on a technical issues causes confusion and reinterpretation.

Mass produced units often fail at portions, a unit that fails multiple times at step and gets rework is likely to be less desirable than one that is dialed in on all tolerances first time, but they get sold the same.

Its like that old saying, if you like the sausage, its better to not go to the sausage factory lol.

In any event, I hope things improve and we all get our Jeeps soon.

And, apparently my pontification and hypothesizing has paid off. Keep in mind that this information is absolutely, positively, NOT from JeepCares, "All New Wrangler", or my dealer, this is coming to you straight from the Wrangler Underground! We will see how quickly the automated messaging from Jeep follows.

I’m not going to ask for a refund, either. I think they’ve helped out so many of us and to yank their tracking is ludicrous.

Tell your handlers their notification to me is running late, and mention for us that we want our tracking back!

Overloaded is overloaded. The issue is the line is backing up due to massive orders and internal issues, and shipping snafus, the issue not the quality of standing in line. Their current system would be fine if the line was moving and units pumping out. The answer is not to pour money into seeing excatly where you are stuck, the answer is to prevent the waits and stalls.

And this is 100% sure.... wait for it... People want their order, everything else they will view as problems, excuses and lies! Riot!

Basically you are one of the people that stood in line over night for a new iphone and are mad the sidewalk was cold. Like every hot new product, I wait till the lines dies down, walk in and buy one a few months after all the die hards get theirs.

Hey its perfectly fine to go jump in that line, but really lets be honest.. you want that line moving, not get a really fancy sign saying now serving number 254 of 232323, and seeing your at end...

Hopefully it all gets going and we can get out to the mountains this summer, lol
soooo Explain this. I waited until the END of April to order my 2 door JL. no JL on lot. sitting in D1 like everybody else. here is where Jeep screwed up. They told us we couldn't order a JK in October of 2017 but allowed us to order our JL in October of 2017... but then didn't start welding the FRAMES until April of 2018. 6 months later. This is more than waiting for the new phone and complaining that the ground is cold. As is stands right now. if a person wants to buy a 2018 JL 2-door they have to wait until August. Do you still want to wait that long or are you willing to wait 6 more months and get the 2019... oh but now your are waiting in line like the rest of us.

Jeeps brand manager has been bragging on the demands for a few months now. It’s a happy problem and I understand supply chain issues on unexpected demand. Better companies respond better than mediocre ones for sure. Jeep may not be destined to be the next Tesla or iPhone, in fact I am sure they are not.

There is no excuse, however, for going to the effort of shutting tracking down in order to “control the message”. They can do it, but we aren’t all just useful idiots that don’t understand that this is a case where less transparency helps them avoid having to deal with real issues some customers are having that go way beyond the average customerr having to wait 30days or whatever the average is.
I waited almost 14 weeks for mine. My est. del. date changed 6 times. I was hung up on, given "cut & paste" answers, and constantly told, "We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience." Sooo, my new Rubicon's nickname is....."Patience."

No. On my second order it was TBD for well over two months. My dealer said it should arrive there sometime this week. My third order is in paint.

My FCA case manager just emailed me, took her 2 followup emails, a call, and 3 weeks to respond with...

“Thank you for your reply! I can understand your frustration with the dealership ETA of your Wrangler changing. However; this timing is an estimated time of delivery and subject to change. Due to the high volume of all-new Wrangler models in the shipping stage, the suppliers that transport our vehicles are backlogged and working as quickly as they can to get these vehicles delivered to the dealership. I will continue to track the status of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler order & will provide email updates as they become available. We appreciate your patience. Sincerely, Nicole Jeep Product Information Center”

I really like how it’s the “dealership ETA” and “supplier’s backlog” that are the reason I am frustrated. That’s the kind of accountability that makes me feel very sure about Jeep warranties and quality...

I liked my 2003 4Runner so much I bought stock in Toyota...and made a killing. Guess I’ll start exploring some short strategies

Does anybody have an idea of when the JL 2 Dr Rubicon will be built with the following order information?
The dealer placed the vehicle order on 4/13/18
My vehicle order number is 41572968
As of 5/17/18 the dealer reported that the order is still in C status which means scheduled he says.
All I would like to know is, when will the status change to build or whatever the next status is? One month, three months, when Hell freezes over, 2023?
This is getting a bit frustrating. The only reason I'm not all twisted up on the wait is because I already own a dream 2013 10th Anniversary Rubicon 2Dr that is pristine with only 17,000 miles. A little voice in my head that's getting louder as the wait goes on is saying, "Your current Jeep is almost paid off and then you will have zero payments and is the 2018 Rubicon that much better to have to spend $23k more for it? I've been offered $27,500 for trade in on my Jeep and the 2018 Jeep costs 53K.
What is your opinion?

They tried a few things that we can see, like they kept the JK line going till just a bit ago, but ya they got caught with order demand outside of what they predicted.

I am annoyed at not having a wrangler yet either, but let me add a few points (I have been an R&D Engineer for 30+ years) to help everyone relate some details they have to deal with:
As someone who works as a customer service analyst you hit the nail squarely on the head! "lean" principles can help or hurt depending on the situation at hand. In this case I want our Jeep in the time frame we were provided at time of order but I also dont want things rushed through the manufacturing process as it will lead to a mess for some (I see it almost daily sadly). The tracking through Jeep's "chat" site seems to be doing a decent job but I may go the underground route myself as well.

My 2dr Rubi official order date was 1-22............................................................................................still waiting.
My 4dr Rubi official order date was 3-29 ship date 4-22. 3000 miles to Kent WA arrived 5-7. FCA said 2-3+ weeks more in Kent then 50 miles to dealer. I received a case # when I complained. Dealer asked me what I had done because he got it 5-16 I got it 5-17. Also got a broken windshield on 5-18 at 110 miles from a opposite direction truck rock. Karma? No, bad luck yes. Good luck to you still waiting. At 180 miles today seems worth it.

From someone who has waited 17 weeks still D status with no build date run and keep your great Jeep for now. If my cj-5 was still pristine I would do that also. Just ranting & raging

Being in line sucks, you don't more status, stories or dancing ponies, you want your Jeep (me too!).

We knew its a new launch for a 2 star quality manufacturer, we knew it was starting later than 4 door, we know they had record setting orders, part shortages, and now even rail shortages to get stuff shipped to dealers, heck there was even an explosion/fire this week.

But we still want it! Why not we are customers and we expect more, and hopelly will shortly.

While it does simply said SUCK that this has happened, IMO it was only a matter of time, especially since $ was collected for these services.
