Quite a bit that would need to be milled off the DS nipple. Hmmm?

The lengths of the nipples are different too. The DS is longer

This explains why my shafts bound up and the nipple was galled. I am not understanding Dana's logic in this design. The FAD delete kit bushing does not work either so why is it included?

Also obvious, that unless you machine the DS nipple to match the OEM's dimensions you cannot use a bushing--plastic or otherwise.

@Spencer - what are you going to do?

Yeah, not without some lathe work. It doesn't make sense what DS was thinking here.
Yeah after the locker sensor debacle and now this I’m done. If they can’t sell an axle kit that works with their own damn housing I just can’t give them any more money.

I've seen too many busted u joints and broken knuckles as a result to run anything other than RCV. I don’t mind the grease, and as long as there is plenty of it they should stay nice and quiet

Out of curiosity, were the broken knuckles on chrome moly shafts with 1350 u-joints?

I don’t know, usually on a trail break that’s the last thing someone wants to answer. “Hey bro were those 1410 u joints” just want to help them and get on with the day.

After installing both RCV and the Dana’s. The last thing you want to do on the trail is swap out the RCV. The Dana’s will take maybe 30 minutes to swap them out and you won’t be covered in black grease. Next is that boot, it’s such a pain to remove and install the RCV boot just to get it to clear the opening.

I get it, but I would also bet they were OEM...
