But it’s valved all wrong for the application. Why not just get longer shocks with the correct valving?Use rear shock for longer travel. Metalcloak does that.
What is "correct" valving? Who makes the call? You?But it’s valved all wrong for the application. Why not just get longer shocks with the correct valving?
The front end is typically much heavier than the rear unless you’re setup for overlanding. What is "correct" valving? Who makes the call? You?
Second, if you know how those manufacturers that make shocks for Jeep, for the same lift height, the rear is almost always longer than the front. That dude might really want a set of fox DSC but also want to have more front flex, and custom valved the rear shock for front springs... We don't know from one picture.. if it works, it works.
Rocksport shocks are not front/rear specific, which means they valved identical for different spring rates and weights, they work just fine for a lot of people's liking.. I don't see whats the problem. In fact, the adjustability of the DSC might accommodates different weights and spring rates better.
Okay.. Mr. obvious. Then please enlight me, why does Metalcloak uses the same shock for both front and rear? By your standard, they are not valved "correctly" because "the front end is typically much heavier than the rear unless you’re setup for overlanding."The front end is typically much heavier than the rear unless you’re setup for overlanding.
By the way, this is a snapshot of a 2019 JLU Rubicon 3.6 8AT weight distribution. The front end is typically much heavier than the rear unless you’re setup for overlanding.
Exactly. You’re not really gaining any travel when you have to limit uptravel. If those are the 4.5-6s, he’s running a solid 32.3” of extension. He may be a little heavy on bump to make up for the 19.4” collapsed.
Edit compared to the front 4.5-6 with 18.4/30.5.
I’m not gonna keep going around in circles with you man. You also typically want heavier dampening in the front for brake dive. I don’t know anything about the rocksport shocks other than they’re cheap.Okay.. Mr. obvious. Then please enlight me, why does Metalcloak uses the same shock for both front and rear? Are those people who run Metalcloak lifts having the incorrect valved shocks?
I promise this is my last quote.I’m not gonna keep going around in circles with you man. You also typically want heavier dampening in the front for brake dive. I don’t know anything about the rocksport shocks other than they’re cheap.
You really are a super-fan aren’t you? Have you ever added anything to a conversation here?I promise this is my last quote.
"Rock Krawler or Metalcloak, you will thank me later. Except I don't know anything about their shocks other than they are cheap."
