Geesh, this went sideways real quick.

There could be so many reasons as to why they are running those shocks up front. Like we've already brought up, there is no way to tell ANYTHING by just looking at a photo. Hell, those may not even be JL rear shocks.

Maybe the OP @77RRAD can reach out to where ever they found that picture to request some insight on the setup?

I know a guy that can see through the shock body and determine the valving by looking at one picture.

You are right, we, the normal people can only guess, but it's interesting to know if that really does work out for the owner. Or that could just be someone fooling around and took a picture of it.

By the way, this is a snapshot of a 2019 JLU Rubicon 3.6 8AT weight distribution.

Not so typical, huh?

Before anyone gets on me: I don't disagree that the front shock valving needs to be different than the rear. There are also likely some benefits to having the option to mount a rear shock BODY on the front, assuming it's valved correctly for the situation.

Dang... that's pretty close to 50:50. Was this stock or with aftermarket wheels? The heavier spare would make the rear heavier.

The official specs (which don't account for hardtop/options/accessories) show a JLUR 3.8 auto at 53:47 weight bias.

One possibility that hasn’t been brought up, installer error :) and they’re installed on the wrong ends. Or he accidentally got 4 rears delivered.

LOL don't get me started on possibilities here. I could make a long list!

Could be the wife bought the wrong set but he didn't want her to feel bad.

Well... some of your answers can be found in this video:
Are the Fox 2.5 DSCs valved differently front to rear at all…? Been running them for 2.5 years now, and never thought about it, all I know is they’re freakin awesome…..

I love how you try and come off innocent after jumping in and attempting to trash on me. It’s ok though, I know you have a crush.

Well... some of your answers can be found in this video:
Whew, 19.4 compressed plus the inch or so from the lower shock mounts. Prolly 3" of uptravel and 10" down. With half of the uptravel in the bumps.

I guess it makes complete sense to swap out $3,000 worth of shocks because the $50 MC sway links contact the hose as installed.

Mount zion off road looks like the ones that built a 2022 392.
Says they used them because the front metal cloak sway bar links would contact the hose on the regular DSC.

Guess I didn't read first but Accutune found the vid.

Just to be fair. Brake dive is mainly handled by suspension geometry, not shock valving.
Any thoughts on the lower front control arm drop brackets, and if they'll influence brake dive in a meaningful way?
