This Jeep is basically a Viper that can go off road and catch air. Definitely fun! Where I live, I have a bunch of trails up through the mountains that are on my property, so we decided to see how many of them are still "drivable". Most are washed away, but we plowed through anyhow.

My wife decided she wanted to drive for a while, and I got a new perspective as a passenger how terrifying it can be. She did great - just hit that boundary of "oh crap we're going to crash" without actually crashing.

I can comfortably say that Jeep hit this one on the mark. It's perfect. About the only things I want to do to it is get a winch, and "maybe" the upgraded Fox shocks. Otherwise, it's pure perfect.

Sounds like a blast, but we need video proof :)

Well, I managed to get high-centered on a stump.... No damage other than the front skid plate and bumper. Figured out how to lift it and get it off the stump (long story there) but it's fine. Jeep did a good job of protecting the important pieces. Seems like I hit the stump at a high enough speed that it didn't bother any of the critical components. In any event, it was fun, and I'm glad it was on my own property so i could drag the tractor out and lift it up to clear the stump.

Stupid stump - that oak died about 15 years ago and I thought it was dust by now. Wrong... That thing was hard enough to fight a chainsaw. After two days of hauling lifts, winches, and jacks around, it's finally back in its parking spot.

Anyone know where to get a good replacement skid plate? I'd appreciate the advice.

If you're going to be doing that I would suggest the MetalCloak Undercloak skid plates. I used them on my last JLUR and they are very tough and cover everything that needs covered.

And I agree that the JLUR XR 392 is perfect. The only mod to mine will be adding a winch to the stock front bumper.

Thanks for that advice - I'll check them out. The front skid is completely toast, but nothing else seemed to get damaged because the small "exhaust protector" cross bar was what I got hung up on.

On the winch, I am still trying to figure out what's the best out there. I'd like to get a 12,000# with wireless control. I can't remember the model now, and I don't know if it would fit the bumper, but I remember it was a Warn, and it was totally sold out everywhere. If I'm going to be taking off the skid plate, I may as well combine jobs and get the winch done.

Good to see you are having fun with it. Nice jeep, I am sure your 392 is considerably more of a beast than my JLU Willys 2.0L. I have had mine for less than 10 months and what I have found out is that in comparison to other 4x4's wranglers are pretty much beasts in any trim.

Enjoy, be safe.

That would be the Zeon 12s Platinum. That's what I have installed. I like the wireless remote. Some will complain of battery drain while off. There is a fix for it and as long as you charge flbefore heading out no issue and it is good for about 3 weeks. It also will work with usb plugged like a non wireless remote, long cable provided. I used the Maximus 3 mount.

Thanks for the information, CpT Papa. I'll have a look at those. I believe I searched for the Zeon 12s a while back and they were totally sold out everywhere. But, that's the one that seems like the best of the best.

About the only mods I want to do to this Jeep are the winch, full underbelly armor, and of course a new bumper skid plate :) I really hit that thing good - but it definitely did it's job.

EDIT: Strange - Warn and 4WheelParts both tell me that the Warn mounting plate won't work with the 392. They don't know why, but they say it just doesn't fit... Not sure if they're right or wrong on that.

Where are pics of your rides?

I'll post a few. Here's one from from my Gladiator in Moab on Kane Creek.
