So here is the fine print at the bottom of my priced order conformation (POC)…..

I never would have even thought about such an increase as to ask to have the price locked. Plus, they have been holding my 8k deposit for 7 months.

We all had that fine print on our POC. Most of us, including myself, we're sold our vehicles at the price on the POC. Has your dealer flat out told you that your order was not price protected?
An 8k deposit....yikes.

Just contact your salesmen and talk about the final closing on the deal. See what he has to say on final price, probably without even bringing up sticker.

Wait… Ashton? Are we being punk’d?? Where are the cameras? Lol

Kidding aside, I’ve never heard of anyone being asked to pay more than $1k for a deposit. $8k is insane! Also, posting here isn’t going to get you an answer. Call your salesman and tell them you’re calling to ensure that your price is protected against your POC. If they’re a good dealer, you’re safe. My 4xe went up $2400 when I ordered last year and I was fully price protected.

I was told that they only wanted serious buyers to order and not flippers or people ordering on a whim then walking. I guess if allocations are limited it makes some sense. Not sure really. I have ordered several other $$ cars before (MB, Porsche) and $1000 only got you an allocation…..deposits were larger for the spec’ed order, but usually not more than 5k.

$8k is silly. There's no way they're going to have trouble selling a 392 lol.

If the dealer correctly handled the order, the MSRP will still be higher but they'll get a credit for the difference, so they are financially incentivized to honor the original price they sold you the Jeep for.

YMMV with state laws and stuff. Best of luck and wishes! (I think you'll end up being OK though)

Update: Jeep delivered today. Dealership honors the POC price as long as the Jeep is sold to the person who ordered it, so I’m good!! Thanks everyone for the input!!

Hopefully most people here know that they can save a few thousand bucks by going through one of the dealerships on the spreadsheet in my sig. For me it was about $6k off.

Update: Jeep delivered today. Dealership honors the POC price as long as the Jeep is sold to the person who ordered it, so I’m good!! Thanks everyone for the input!!
