I’m having installation issues. The Velcro at the bottom of the seat back barely tucks through to the back-it’s too short. Even if it was longer there isn’t any Velcro to attach it to. And there is also supposed to be some Velcro to attach the bottom of the back panel to (under the molles) which tucks it up under the bottom of the seat but there’s no Velcro to attach that too either. What am I doing wrong?

Getting the velcro pulled through under the seat back is tough. I repeatedly stretched the seat cover downward over the seat alternating with pulling on the velcro one side, then the other (L-R).
Your nice toasty weather might help make it easier to stretch. It helped me by having someone in the front pushing downward and back as I pulled the velcro from behind.

In the back, just a double check that you've sharply folded up the factory skirt and tucked it up behind the molle? On the back portion of the seat cover that hangs down, there is about 2" of skirt, then just above that should be the velcro mating strip (the fuzzy part). It was not easy for me to connect them, nor could I get full overlap of the velcro. Again, I had someone pushing on the front and I alternated L-R tugs while mating the velcro. It took all my grip strength to get it. On the other hand, its June and its been 60F here :-( so the material is not as compliant as it might be. If it ever warms up here I'll probably give it another stretch and re-velcro attempt.

Oh it attaches to itself! I do see the fuzzy part of the Velcro on the seat cover. The video I was watching made it look like it attached to Velcro on the seat cover bottom and of course there is no Velcro on the bottom seat cover section. I will have to try and stretch it through cuz right now there is no way it’ll reach that fuzzy strip. And yes it is very toasty here now. I think I lost 5 lbs in sweat this morning getting them on! Thanks!!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with BarTact. Although I don't like living in southern California, it did give me the opportunity to drive just over an hour to meet them in person and buy from their showroom/warehouse stock. Dominic, young man in the owner's family, was awesome to work with and I got exactly what I wanted. Very happy with my 392 front and rear bench covers. They're a small operation and work hard. 10/10.
Totally agree with you. Although I haven't been to their showroom in California, they were nothing but pleasant and responsive via telephone. After I ordered a set for my 2019 JLUR, I wanted to make some changes. They were very supportive and helped me to get them exactly how I wanted.

FYI, you can have the stitching a different color, if you want to maintain the current look.

Has anyone ordered recently? Going into 6 weeks since I’ve ordered and no movement.

Went straight black to hopefully speed up the order. Just did front, rear and center console cover, nothing tricky. I’ve had the top off a month, and just keeping a blanket in the Jeep to cover the seats from scorching arse upon my return.

I’ll reach out to them this week, but curious others recent experiences?

I was at 7 weeks when I finally called them. They told me he would make sure they shipped the next day and he was true to his word. They arrived a few days later.

I ordered mine ~3 weeks ago. They are out for delivery to me today (according to UPS). Looking forward to putting them on tonight. FYI - I ordered the black with grey inserts.

Talked to them this morning, and they said they were just waiting on the rear bench to be completed, and he'd be shipping out today. He said they were slammed, and recrafting something with their template, that got them a bit backed up, but there are catching up and shipping a lot of stuff this week.

Glad you mentioned it, looking forward to getting them on soon!

Thanks for clarifying - what is it then? I might have dismissed it because I don't like that whole netting weave thing all over the back, but maybe they can make it for me without.
Bartact will send you samples. It is a patented fabric which is both breathable and water resistant. Many 9" work boots offer this on the sides for comfort. I have had mine in several inches of water during a fire call and never leaked. I loved the set I had on my 2018 Rubicon and will order a set for my new 392 also. Very comfortable and washable.

These BarTacts are four years old. The lumbar support is not really necessary as they do have a place to insert one, but I take mine in and out depending upon how long my seat time is.

Did you have any problem with the center of the seat backs fitting loosely? I have not been able to achieve the tight fit that I am used to with these covers. Dominic is working with me, including sending me updated pics for the install. But at this point, I cannot pull any more fabric through as it is actually tight from the top of the seat to the bottom on the side bolsters. Thankfully they are a stand up company.

With the differing curves of the seat back, the bottom 8-10" of the seat cover are tight to the seat. Above that the seat back becomes more recessed and there is a gap between the cover and seat back. I consider that due to the shape of the 392 seat it is unavoidable. It is recessed in that area in both the vertical and horizontal axis. Pretty much stretching cloth across a bowl.

I have the seat covers stretched tightly in place but while the cloth in that mid-upper area is tight, it remains lifted from the seat back.

That is what I'm dealing with. I suggested to Dominic that they increase the fabric on the side bolsters and decrease in the center as well as modifying the hem where it is restricted from being pulled further down by the seat belt mechanisms. This would require slight modification to the top also, to allow the cover to pull down and through to the connection under the seat. They are extremely responsive to this, and sent out for another 392 leather seat to be patterned.

I don’t understand why anybody would want seat covers on a 392.

Why not buy the real covers that replace the leather? Or if you’re concerned about the vehicle why not just buy replacement leather covers.

I want to be educated on the purpose of putting ridiculous looking clothing on seats. Obviously quite a few people are interested in this.
