Dealers lie. I've had the same bubbling paint approved by Jeep and fixed on their dime two times my 2019 in three different places and fixing to be a third.

52k miles was the dealer’s reason that Jeep wouldn’t cover it. My dealer doesn’t seem interested in trying to convince Jeep otherwise. They didn’t even bother to try.
Customer service is nonexistent.

Jeep will cover it. 2018 JLR 2 door. I have had all 4 hinges replaced, door and hinges painted. Then noticed my hood months later so they repainted the whole hood and new Rubicon decals. Hinges on back tailgate was next. So, yes they will fix it, you just need to push it. As for my dealer they never gave me any issues. They took pics sent it to FCA and it was approved. 45,000 miles on it right now, Hood and back was done 3 months ago.

Isn’t that aluminum. The warranty m
should cover it for sure.

2018 jlu sport s. At ~60k Miles both drivers side doors and all four hinges replaced with new - other side one hinge replaced. No cost to me approved under warranty. I was without a vehicle for three weeks though. I'm at a place in my life - don't care - par for the course - I'm ok with the resolution. The V6 manual trans has been perfect. Love the jeep planning to order the next one. The good far out weighs the bad. Tom

Anyone know what’s causing this? Shouldn’t be rust since it’s an aluminum door. Bad batch at the paint shop maybe?

It's galvanic corrosion. Dissimilar metals loose Electrons one to the other. I understand the hinges and doors are hung before paint. I would hope current production has this under control... Now that I have mine fixed the long term action is to keep a eye on it. Pull the hinges clean it up and spot paint quickly if found again. I noticed after the body shop was done they put a thick layer of heavy grease on the hinge pins. This would help keep the doors isolated. I intend to re-grease them each fall. Tom

yeah, should place a gasket material under the hinge plate between it and the door panel to block the metal to metal contact.

Update.
ā€˜Talked to Jeep customer service and they said I should be covered to get the paint repaired under the 5yr unlimited miles warranty. He said to have my dealer take pictures and submit the claim

My dealer was surprised to hear that and said that they would have to look into it. It’s now been a couple of weeks and I haven’t heard back from them.

Less than impressed with my dealer’s customer service…
