Upgraded brake suggestions

Hi all,
I upgraded my old JK brakes to the Mopar big brake kit and it was much better. However my 392 is supposed to already have upgraded brakes. I’d still like some more stopping power. Any suggestions of what we can use?

Maybe look into a different pad compound from one of the known high performance brake pad companies. Sometimes just a brake pad swap can give you better bite, brake modulation feel, and fade resistance. EBC is one brand that comes to mind. There will probably be tradeoffs. Maybe more dust, shorter pad life, poorer cold performance for better hot performance, etc.

I think there is also a big brake kit from Alcon also.

I'm getting these Hawk pads soon, look to be the only real performance pad upgrade at the moment that also has rear pads. @alksion is getting them probably sooner, might shoot him a PM if he's got them on already.

Hey man, been a while. Let me know how those pads work out for you. I tried the yellow stuff pads and it just lead to squeaking as I stopped. If these work I’ll get them right away.

On my JK I had the Dynatrac big brake kit. Performance was great, especially for the money. But I would NOT buy that kit again. The pads wear out quick and they dust worse than anything I've ever seen. I used to race cars and I had less dust on those pads where pad manufacturers don't care about dust levels.

I don't know who's BBK I will get, but as of now Teraflex all 4 corners caliper/rotor kit is a top contender for the price, and Alcon and Baer are something I will be looking at when the time comes because of my excellent prior experiences with other vehicles.

I run the LTS pads on my '93 Land Cruiser. They are excellent pads IMO. Grab well when cold, but are noticeably better when they heat up. I'll swap them on my Jeep when the time comes.

Might consider Wilwood, I had their BBK front kit on our Infiniti G, they make a great product and are priced pretty fair. Only caveat is they might require 18" wheels, they have a fit template that you can use prior to ordering so "maybe" a 17" would squeeze in but ???

Nope, first wheeling trip is coming though. I had waited six Months for my next venture skid plates to come in. Just installed them two days ago and now I’m okay hitting the rocks! Thinking Monache meadows at the end of the month.

The worst section is only a 4. We are doing it as a test run, but also because it has amazing camping. I'm going up with some other dads and our sons, most have stock Jeeps or Broncos so we will see if they all make it....ypou planning your next big trip?

I've been thinking about those myself. I've watched their install video 20 times! They look sweet too.

How do you like 'em? better stopping power? Was it as simple as bleeding the brakes after install? I read in another post that showed how to bleed the ABS of air using a scanner?
