Owners with SOT: help!

so I bought this rubicon used, and it came with the SOT
I noticed a loud unlocking(?) loud sound whenever it opens on the driver side (i assume)
Is this normal?

My wife is driving the Jeep today so I can't make a video until later. Mine makes a similar noise when it first starts opening but not quite that loud. I chalked it up to when the material first separates from the top of the windshield.

are you still under warranty? worth having a dealer take a gander at it.

Mine sounds like that. Its unlatching. Should hear about same sound closing. Has to latch in place.

Yeah once I have time, I ll go to the dealer since I did get the extended warranty

It's quiet during closing until it latches in the front. Then it makes a similar sound to when it first opens. My assumption is there's a mechanism that latches/unlatches the roof to the frame and that's the louder-but-brief sound we hear.
