Flying to Austin and driving to Nyle Maxwell Jeep in Killeen, Texas to kick tires on a Black 2DR Rubicon, and a White and Black Rubicon Unlimited. This would be my 3rd car and I much prefer the look of the 2DR over the 4DR, but my wife thinks I should get the Unlimited. I’m comparing the Wrangler to the 2DR Bronco. Went to Bronco Off Rodeo in early January and really enjoyed it and the Bronco.

We’ll see what happens.

You can’t go wrong with a 2 door. I love mine. I ventured away for about 8 years and got in the Tacoma crowd but came back to the wrangler.

100%, especially as a 3rd car. The X5 is the family hauler and long-distance cruiser.

If you aren't hauling kids around and this is a fun car why not go for the two door? Lol, hope you find what you like. Either way you'll enjoy it.

We are pulling the trigger with Nyle on Monday for a 392 XR order. They seem like a straight up dealership. Will be our 3rd vehicle as well.

I liked kicking tires when I was younger. I swapped out vehicles almost every couple of years in my twenties and thirties. When I started getting a take home from work, we only had one car for awhile until I retired and got my 2019. A Rubi was my dream Jeep. Now after all the mods, I'm done kicking tires. Best of luck and congrats on whatever you choose.

^^ Good to hear Electrified. My plan is to tell them I am cross-shopping the Bronco vs the Wrangler, and that I won‘t be making a decision tomorrow. We‘ll see if that helps my negotiating position.

My 2 dr is a “3rd”, but it quickly retired my F150 to hailing and road trip duty only. So, it is my primary driver now. Wouldn’t do anything different. Plenty of room in the back with the seat folded or removed. A great all around, to anywhere vehicle.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
You could fly out to Oregon and buy mine, then enjoy Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona wheeling while driving home.

If you say that you’re cross shopping a Bronco they will think that price is no issue, as one can hardly be found to buy and when there is the markup is crazy. Maybe say a 4runner, or just don’t give them much info at all.

I purchased a brand new 2016 JKU in 2015 from Nyle Maxwell in Austin. Drove down first thing in the morning after communicating via email & they had the Jeep detailed and out front for me, paperwork ready & I was out the door in 30 min. Good buying experience.

Same here. Originally thought the wrangler would be my toy, now I think it moves up to my daily while the F-150 is relegated to trips to the dump.

I had a 2 door TJ and felt that how a Jeep should be. When the 4 doors were first released I test drove one and wasn't sold, but that was the previous version. I originally intended to buy a 2 door JL Rubicon, but to me, the 4 door just looked better proportioned. As some others have previously stated, even though the Jeep will be your third vehicle, it could quickly become your #1 driver. I prefer the 2 door over the 4 door Bronco too, but if you tell them you are cross shopping I don't think it will give you any leverage. Because you will be waiting or overpaying for one.

It's not a car. Two door is a real jeep but you should be happy with whatever you get. A great advantage of the two door is you don't have everyone in there chewing your ear off and you can enjoy the serenity of the great out doors. especially when you take out the rear seat.

All very good tips, especially not mentioning the Bronco.

The black 2DR is my first choice, the black unlimited second. To me, the black unlimited looks smaller, closer to 2DR, and less like a wagon than the white one.

The dealership’s internet mgr texted me at 715am saying how excited they are to meet me, lol.
