Hey all. Just got back from Jeep Beach in Daytona. Met with Rock Krawler owner Jeremy, Dennis Wood from Teraflex, multiple guys from Rebel Offroad, as well as countless other vendors from well respected brands. TONS of JLs there. When I told them I had a 2.0 Turbo on order they all stopped in their tracks and said “ Man you did the right thing. You’re going to LOVE IT”. There was not a single person I spoke with that drove them at Easter Jeep Safari that didn’t say how awesome they were.

You see they all had to order a 3.6s ASAP for R&D and showcasing their products. To a man, they all said had they had a choice they would have opted for the 2.0 out of the box.

Couple those glowing reviews with the fact that I moved from D to D1 and have a estimated production in mid May, makes me stoked.

Hang in there everyone, I’m told the wait is WORTH IT!

That’s awesome, great to hear for all of us who did!

Will it be a lot different than the cherokee 2.0t with the same hp and torque rating? I drove one today and was not impressed at all. It felt like it had no power.

I can't wait to see the power potential once the aftermarket gets a hold of these engines. Coming from a long line of turbo charged cars and diesels. I know what these could be.

Grumble grumble where’s the manual option grumble.
Clearly there’s a reason they’re not offering it. Maybe it won’t handle the torque? Fue

Same motor but with the electric asssit. Not sure about the unit you drove but every review of this motor I’ve seen in the wrangler and Cherokee people prefer it over the V6.

All i know is the v6 felt waaaaay faster than the cherokee i tested. I even had the guy open the hood to prove it was the turbo model and the window sticker wasnt lying. Hopefully the wrangler version is different.

That is complete opposite of what all the video reviewers are saying and what I've heard about the Wrangler as well. 2.0 feels more powerful, more responsive, etc.

Like i said it was on the sticker as the turbo and i had him open the hood to confirm. Felt like a kia.

I also drove an alfa stelvio with the same engine with similar thoughts about power.

This is either a troll, or your SotP meter needs to be calibrated.

Not a troll. I literally have test driven 2 cars with this engine in them back to back with the 3.6. I'm not sure how much the BSG will add to the experience, but it better be a lot. I was waiting for the 2.0t and have now decided to get a 3.6. I was as upset as anyone, I have high hopes for this engine. But it felt nothing like 265hp should feel. I dont know what the deal is. The salesguy said that he's heard that feedback a lot about that engine.

Hopefully the BSG adds a lot to the experience. In the meantime, I'll go with the tried and true 3.6.

The torque is what you actually feel, not the horsepower and the torque is 295 which is quite a bit more. Is there an eco mode on those two vehicles? Too many people have driven the 3.6 and 2.0 back to back with very positive feedback about the 2.0 being more powerful. The 2.0 is the superior experience in both statistical and real world opinions.

Yes I know, and the torque wasn't there. I specifically looked for an asked about an eco mode, and supposedly there isnt one on the cherokee.

All I can do is relay my experience. Hopefully the wrangler is different. I'm not willing to risk it at this point. I've driven two cars with that engine, both were gutless. Maybe the wrangler version is better. Hopefully it is. That's all I can say.

No worries, just order the 3.6 and be happy. Now let us talk about the 2.0.
