I need the same harness for my JL toad..... following this thread
Hey, I'm in Odessa too! I thought I spotted your Rubi on Gunn Highway a few weeks ago. We need to tow our RV as well. 42 foot class A. We did purchase the tow package, when I did the jeep Build. We used to pull our Sequoia. Husband had to un-hook the drive shaft each time. PAIN IN THE Rear! ahah. Looking for new Rock sliders for height. Did you buy some for yours?

Ordered mine earlier this morning. Hope it ships as one of the limited quantities and I don’t have to wait till 5/7. :)

CoolTech ... I looked at the link and this looks exactly like what I have been waiting for. Before I order one, is there anyway you can post the installation instructions so I can understand how it is installed and what I am in for?

Thanks
FLSteve
You better order right now, if you want one. They are going to go quick. Hopefully ?, Cool Tech, will have more in stock by 5/7. Anyway, order now would be the wisest move, and worry about install instructions later.

FatBoy01 ... I took your advice and ordered it this morning.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your order. We achieved or even exceeded our objectives to have this kit solve the problems that have historically plagued Tow Wiring solutions in the past. We would have liked the opportunity to make the kit plug & play but Jeep really didn't provide opportunities to do that with literally no connectors in-between the BCM and the lights. No doubt there will be generic diode-based kits available but these connections are not plug & play and are typically made outside the Jeep exposed to the weather and usually not with the best of connectors. Our connections are inside of the Jeep in a neat and tidy area. We provide you the color codes and locations of the wires - and ask you to validate before installing. The wires are right in front of you, so you will not have to be upside down in the footwell with your feet dangling in the air! I promise. Our connections are expensive, heat shrink butt connectors, and we've already done one side for you. Honestly, we believe most of our kits will be self-installed and we've certainly done everything possible to make it as easy and straightforward as possible.

One of my RV/Jeep buddies wanted me to ask this to CoolTech ... "Can you ask a question to see if you can eliminate the supplied CoolTech switch and connect directly into the Aux bank that comes with the towing package?"

Any thoughts out there?

That’s funny because I think I saw you as well! I live off of Boyscout Rd so I’m often on Gunn Highway. I have a class A as well and used to tow my JK Wrangler. I have the stock rock sliders. Just need to get the JL tow ready now.

Hi Steve,

As much as we'd like to be able to exploit one of the OEM Aux switches, the isolator switch in our kit is pretty complicated compared to the OEM Aux switches - so it quickly becomes a moot point. Additionally, I suppose we wouldn't want to pre-req the Aux Switch option for those that don't have it as it is pretty pricey.

As a validation of our installation instructions, this weekend we installed a kit for a local customer. Yes, we did make some improvements to the instructions following this - and added some more pictures! We've received a couple of PM's and emails asking us the difference between our kit and generic kits that are out there. We put together a quick summary depicting the key differences between our solution and others.

CoolTech ... sounds great. No better way to get things correct other than doing one yourself. Looking forward to getting my kit (and also my Jeep) to get it installed. How will we know that we have the latest instructions ... is there a revision date on them?

Boy Howdy! It was a humbling experience and a win-win for both the customer and us! For the kits we sent out prior to the instruction updates, we have already emailed those customers and included a pdf file of the new update. Keep in mind, there was nothing catastrophic with Rev 1, but Rev 2 includes some nice tips. In short, if you haven't received an email from us, your kit will come with Rev 2!
