Has anyone changed out their lock cover with a black one yet? Was it hard?

Changing out a lock cylinder is pretty easy. Just make sure you pull out the little tabs in order and make sure you write down the order so that you can reuse your current key. There’s some great videos on YouTube if you’ve never done it before.

@jurassic3k

No way would I replace the shiny key hole with a black key hole... Invasive, expensive.. a hassle.

YES, I would /do cover with a quality key hole cover(s)..

I have Tread style key hole covers.. You might like Jurassic style that has a T-Rex or Superman or Plain or Jeep Wave or....

Just ask @cosine he knows!
If you don't use that key hole you can use a peel paint like Plasti-dip, Duplicolor Wrap, or Rustoleum Peel coat. Can also use that for your Jeep side emblems, your Trail-Rated badge and even your antenna if silver's not your thing. And even your grill :)

I've used plasti dip and vinyl over the years to cover the key holes ..... but the game changed so to speak when easy to install and easy to remove key hole covers with STYLE became available..

I like those, I'm sure others would to, have you had any missing from thieving scum?

@blnewt

They are on the keyholes very very tightly/securely.

DI Labs has included a "nail ring" on them to aid removal, but most thieves / passer bys would not know the nail ring was on there... SO, in a bunch if months, mine are still on there.
