What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

It's the JL Power Hoist from Lange Originals. $499 shipped/no taxes from Lange. I think Quadratec also has them listed for sale too.

I set up the hoist adapter the night it arrived and took :45 or so while watching tv and drinking beer. Installing the hoist took maybe an 1:30 or so. I didn't crib it and installed directly into the center of some joists....figured the lag bolts would be strong enough. Ran to Lowe's for a short extension cord/parts to raise the remote off the ground. Not sure if I've got the pulley in the right spot for the lifting blade but will figure that out when I go to remove the hard top for the first time when the weather stops being schizophrenic.

Ok it seems easy enough to install. Is the only option for a hoist lift? Just wondering before I order mine. Thanks in advance.

Are these hoists designed to hold the Top for an extended time? Meaning once I remove my Top do I let it hang there or is it best to store the Top on the garage floor or some holding unit?

Yes it is. I got it from Lange as a kit (Power Hoist-a-top) for my 2014 JK. They made an adapter so the bracket that attaches to the top works with the reduced spacing between the JL rear window opening.

Are these hoists designed to hold the Top for an extended time? Meaning once I remove my Top do I let it hang there or is it best to store the Top on the garage floor or some holding unit?

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’ve never had a problem leaving mine hanging from the hoist. I pull in the garage and park with the hood under the hoisted top. I’ve gone as long as 2-3 weeks at a time.

Thanks to the help of my old man, I was able to install a plate system and rear security box. With the tailgate locked, i can have secured items in the back and keep the soft top on! Still needs a top tiedown system...

Also trimmed the euro fenders flush with the bumper, upgraded the wheels to some Rubi takeoffs and plastidiped the front grill.

Tomorrow, I'll be placing the Rubicon suspension on her!

Has anybody had any luck blacking out the Sahara silver grille inserts? Are the Rubi grille inserts a part you can buy? I haven’t had much luck finding them.

Ordered a set of ProComp 5034 Wheels in 17" for my wifes sport... Now I have to figure out what tires I want to put on them.

Looks good! I assume you removed the grill prior to plasti dip? Did you also plastidip the bumper?

I'm planning on leaving it on the hoist from May-Nov. Got the soft top going on next month.
