wow! all I can say when describing that place....has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

the wife and I headed up there on Sunday for a quick get away and our first real road trip since our road trip home from buying it in Idaho in April....unfortunately a couple lighting strike fires had erupted the day before we got there in near by areas , but luckily everything was still open and the smoke was blowing to the north so it was fortunate that we had two full days to enjoy before heading home this morning. Apparently they are shutting everything down now in that area due to the fires....hoping everyone is ok up there and they get those fires out soon.

This was my first real test of this Jeep and myself for that matter as I'm a noob to this whole off road thing and I was very impressed with how well she did....much more capable than me that is for sure. The further I got down the trail, the more confident you get in the rig and yourself. We did two trails Dry Creek (Devils Bridge) and about half of Schnebly Hill...I much preferred Dry Creek as Schnebly Hill was just a ton of boulder bouncing and much more traffic, but still pretty fun with some great views....made it out to the Van Deren cabin on the Dry Creek trail which was the most difficult part of the trail, but we made it in a pretty much stock Rubi with 35" tires...The 2.0T did great out there in the heat and just wanted more. Really wish I had a slight lift to make it easier, but impressed big time with how she did as is. We fell in love with that place and will definitely be back again.

probably the most Jeeps per capita than any other town in the world, with all the Jeep tours and rentals and folks like us up there....some pics

hit me up if you go. I am always down to head up the the cooler country living here. I can also get some others from the forum to go as we have a pretty big group from the forums here in the Phoenix area.

Now that sounds like fun. I recently re-located to this area from Portland, OR and am looking to expand my knowledge and experience of off-roading as I'm a Jeep Noob!

How does one hook up with that group?

Great pics and glad y’all got to experience a little of the area before it shut down!! Definitely need to come back. Lots more trail for you to discover. I always recommend Broken Arrow—one of my faves. Fun and gorgeous scenery.
