The squealing noise.. its that from your jeep or the recording is piss poor? I don't have that. What speed is the noise taken at? I am going to pick up my jeep Friday and will ask who my dealer spoke with and pass that on here, if they will give it to me.
The squealing noise is the air leak. Crazy right? I actually though it was coming from my speaker as noise interference or Bluetooth feedback but it is actually a leak. It happens randomly at speeds between 45-65 mph. Seems to happen more when there is a cross wind or Iā€™m making a right turn.

My new JL Sahara does this too! Coming from the windshield area and is the exact same noise, but even louder at speeds over 65mph. Did your dealer seem like they were going to do anything about it or keep trying to figure it out?
Glad Iā€™m not alone in this. Dealer is trying to figure it out. They took my dashboard off for an unrelated HVAC issue and now Iā€™m wondering if that could be the cause of it. (Air coming up through firewall). Sounds like itā€™s coming out around winsheild area though.

Keep me posted, Iā€™m interested in finding out what they have to say! I took a road trip this weekend and it was brutal with that noise.

This is my issue. Horrible air leak coming through or around windshield. @JeepCares dealer canā€™t figure it out.

My Sahara test drive had a similar air leak/whistling noise at 60 mph, and think it is due to the new windshield design and poor alignment of said windshield. I will be ordering a premium soft top only and plan on fixing it myself if needed. My 2011 Sahara was a little loud, but this noise can drive you nuts. I feel for you guys!

My wind noise causes a buffeting pressure that makes me need to pop my ears over and over. It happens all the time and is sort of like a rear window is down. Yes I checked all the rubber etc. Anyone else fighting this?

Got my Jeep back and the verdict is though the dealer is being nice and trying, they didn't address my primary complaint regarding wind noise. I told them it was loud, but I noticed it worst in the passenger side rear window area. They didn't look at this area. I was unable to get info about who to contact at Jeep. The dealer told me they opened the repair ticket and used the words "Wind Noise" which was the flag to be contacted. The issue with the garage door opener was apparently you have to use button 1 then button 2 then button 3. I did button 3 (far right) first which didn't work. Does not make tons of sense to me the order of the button you use. My transmission shift issue was the computer learning my driving, though for the first 900 miles it did just fine. All in all a waste of time for all parties involved. Good luck to others.

I have the same issue and I think the JL is louder at city speeds than my LJ was. Very unfortunate.

Not true! I only have the middle one programmed. The others aren't used. I've never even touched the other two buttons.

I figured this was the case. The service department tested the button and said they were reading a whatever type signal and everything was fine from their side. They were trying to nicely say operator error but since I got the other two buttons working without the slightest issue.. not possible. Now I need to decide its worth going through this for a faulty button or not.. Thanks though for the info.

JeepCares seems to be a lot of lip service with minimal help. I have a 15 jk I was about to trade but reading this forum on various noises with no real resolution has led me to cancel my order. I sent my dealer the link and told him to contact me when Chrysler takes these issues seriously and resolves them. I'm a bit bummed but it beats a louder truck. I cringe reading about your useless service visits. Good luck and keep us posted

Hi guys, just wanted to give an update on what was causing my windshield whistle.

After inspecting every inch of my Jeep, last week I noticed that there was a slight gap in the weather seal that is right under the windshield on the outside of my Jeep. The gap was only a couple inches long on the driverā€™s side corner. Itā€™s not super visible to the eye, it looks as if someone just took a razor blade and separated the clear weather seal from the frame. My appointment with my dealer was not until today, and I had a road trip I was getting ready to take so I put a strip of electrical tape over the gap. The windshield whistle stopped immediately. I took it to the dealer, and they are ordering a new weather seal and windshield that will be installed next week. Definitely be sure to check this if you are having the same issue. Good luck!
