Going to be getting the diesel but I’m keeping my 37s to throw on it. I heard one guy say the diesel is actually an inch taller stock then the gas rubis but I wanted to see if anyone has actually tested 37s on the diesel. Obviously I will lift it eventually but that may be a little while.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger for cooper stt pro 37x12.50r17 real soon. From everything I have read, even with stock Rubicon wheels and gears, the tires will be okay. I have a budget so first tires, then wheels and finally the lift. All in good time.

Well I'm doing this tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes. Not on stock wheels though. I forget the backspacing on mine but they're less. I'll take before and after pictures.

IIRC, @Casey250 has a video on his channel where he put on 37s on his diesel Rubi before any lift. Definitely worth checking out as his content is really good and might help answer some potential questions/concerns you have.

Do you have a link to the video?
Yeah, sorry that would have been helpful for me to add. I need to learn to forum better. I see someone already posted it. Hopefully it helped in your decision.

Many thanks. The guy in the video had beadlock tires with the 37 inch tires. The power seems okay for the larger tires. Someday.

He has an additional video with 37s on Teraflex Nomads here. This was actually the video I was referring to.

Zero chance that guy got the 35mpg he reported on his first run. He didn't top off the tank properly.

In other news the 37s fit fine, which we knew they would. Rear clearance looks about what it does on the gas JLUR. Not much room between the tire and that rear plastic in the wheel well.
