I wish I could say this was from off-roading but idiot here drove over a Boulder whilst leaving a car park (don’t ask)

Is this something to worry about? Should I get replaced?

I kind of think it did it’s job but I’m just a bit worried about that crack?

You can still use the vehicle, but it should be replaced.

And to think, people here make fun of mall crawlers.

Why not just say you hit a boulder and leave it at that? I mean a boulder impacts the same whether you run up on it while on the trail or, um, leaving a car park.

I’m sorry I didn’t structure my question to your liking. I’ll do better next time... (English sarcasm)

The stock skids & crossmember are flimsy and lightweight.

You should have it replaced at some point. If you were on this side of The Pond, I'd give you mine. I replaced the underbits with a skid system.

Thats why thats there. To break, so nothing important breaks. Needs to be replaced. I wouldn't think this part is expensive, and would take 10 minutes to replace. Cracks always propagate, they just don't stop, the metal has been permanently damaged and needs to be replaced.

P.S. Wth is a car park?

Those aren't structural. You could remove it entirely and it wouldn't weaken anything.

The cross member is not structural and just protective.

End drill the cracks to prevent spread, or better get it welded up.

Part is probably pricey in the UK as likely not stocked and needs to get shipped in.

I believe cross bar from my 2-Door JLR was removed and not needed when the Artec Aluminum skids were installed.
If that part can work for you, send me a PM.
