Hi Jungle31,
Please let us know via private message if you decide to have your dealer look into this. We would like to have this documented and have a case escalated in your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with your dealer to help find a potential solution.

I have battled this same problem on my 2018 Sahara JLU. Last year they replaced the radio twice and the Amp another time. It’s very sporadic so sometimes when I’d make an appointment for the next day, it would have stopped. I found if you shut it off for 30+ minutes I would stop, but it will come back. I went almost a year without problems, but today it started again. . I LOVE my Wrangler, but this is soooo frustrating!

Started the Jeep yesterday morning only to find a background single-note tone being transmitted over the infotainment system (8.4). AM, FM, SMX all the same. I could hear the radio, but the tone was about half volume and really irritating. Reminded me of the tone that was broadcast when old time television shut down for the night. Oh yes, it was there when using our phones via Bluetooth. Only the direction lady didn't have an underlying tone.

I shut off our phones ... no change. Restarted the Jeep multiple times .. no change. Didn't know about the Fuse 11 reboot trick yesterday, so didn't perform that.

After about 150 miles with 25 to 30 stop/start operations, we stopped for dinner. Just to add to the irritation, dinner was slow being served ... took about one hour. But, when we started the Jeep the tone was gone. Started the Jeep this morning and it's still gone.

Two questions: 1) Has anyone else experienced this? I couldn't find any threads that addressed this problem. 2) Besides a reboot with Fuse 11, anybody have other trouble shooting ideas?

Oh yes, we've been visiting Ghost Towns for the past three weeks - Saturday's trip included three close to home - but, I'm sure an exorcism is not required.
I have battled this on and off since I purchased my 2018 JLU. The dealership updated the system, replaced the radio 2 times, and replaced the amp once. Each time, a week or month would go by, and BEEEEEEEEEP! Grr. I finally made it almost a year without it happening, and last week it did it again. I drove to the dealership for them to look at it, but they were backed up and needed o keep it. They didn't have a vehicle they could put me in, so I had to leave. I pulled over in their parking lot, googled and found the suggestion of rebooting Fuse 11. I popped the hood (at the dealership, in front of the service department) pulled and replaced the fuse. It has not made the noise since....but I know it will come back. There are MANY notes on my file at the dealership of this occurring. I LOVE my JLU, but this is ridiculous. I was told the Lemon Law only pertains to something that prohibits the vehicle from running, and not to things like radio problems.

I went to the dealership last week when it happened again. They were backed up and needed to keep my Jeep - and had nothing they could put me in, so I had to leave. I popped my hood while in the parking lot of the service station, googled and found the "bandaid fix" of rebooting Fuse 11. That worked for now, but I have had this problem documented on my file (at the dealership) MANY times. They don't know what to do beside replace components (2 radios and the amp), none of which work. There is a problem that needs to be fixed and I have had to give my jeep over too many times, for the same problem. Please advise me what I should do to have this repaired. It's not always possible to run to the dealership when it's happening, and they aren't usually able to look at it when I do. As soon as the vehicle is turned off for 30-60 minutes, it stops, so they are unable to test it.

@JeepCares ... please read the @Luckyk8 post above.

@Luckyk8 ... use the "@JeepCares" in your post to make sure they are alerted to your post. Also, you can use an ampersand sign in front of any members screen name to alert them that you want them to read your post.

I was lucky, my noise went away and hasn't come back since my post. But, I have a note to pull the fuse if it does come back.

I own a 2016 Wrangler and a 2019 Grand Cherokee, and both have had the same issue so I'm thinking it's an underlying bug within UConnect and not tied to a specific model. As others have said, the only fix that's worked for me is to turn the cars off and wait an hour or so. Given the volume of posters on this thread, it's surprising to me that Jeep hasn't escalated this issue to find and release a fix - software or hardware. The market is about to get a lot more competitive with the new Broncos on the horizon, and IMHO Jeep needs to be more proactive in addressing these types of customer-reported issues.

My 2019 Wrangler had the same tone on and off for a year. Like a backup sensor that never turns off. I got a UConnect update done at the dealer that specifically addressed that issue. So far, no tone. It was so bad prior I would have to pull the F97 fuse in the fusebox to reset the radio to get it to stop.

I have had my 2019 for 18 months. Same exact problem with the radio tone. It is not the backup warning tone, because both have been on at the same time! It is very intermittent. We have gone 4 or 5 months without an issue, then it has happened 4 days in a row, it is the worst. I called Jeep, they suggested a soft radio reboot, only you cannot do that with the doors off. Dealership hasn't experienced it, so they have no idea what I am talking about. I am going to pull the fuse now, hopefully that works.

How can jeep pretend this isn't an issue?

Update. Pulled the fuse and all fixed. Now I will keep a needle nose plyers in the car.

The missus drives a 2018 Grand Cherokee Summit ... 17k miles. The background hum occurred in it for the first time last week. Left it parked for an hour-an-a-half and the hum disappeared. Both the GC and the Wrangler have the same 8.4 radio system, so it does look like it's in the radio and not the vehicle.

Yep happened to me too, had to take it in several times, it was actually faulty sensor with the rear back up camera they told me.

This issue just started with my 2019 Sahara. Constant tone coming from the radio. It would cut out if I used the phone and then start back up again. Turned the vehicle off then started back up and the constant tone was still there. Very annoying!
