Has anyone who's getting a Sport or Sport S removed or will remove the splash guards Jeep integrated into the left and right side of the front bumper? The sales manager I spoke with today agrees with me and thinks they take away from the look of the Wrangler and can be easily removed. The bumper is the same as a Sahara(which doesn't have those ugly splash guards).
One member did this and said it left the back of the fog lights exposed. There is a difference between the Sport and Sahara bumper. From Jeep website compare tool it lists the Sport bumper as just "Molded" and the Sahara bumper as "Injection Molded".

I wondered why and what the difference was for. I am now thinking this may be one of the reasons for that difference.

Ordered my Punk'n on 2/14 and it just went to D1. Regardless of when you ordered, it looks like they're finally getting ready to start building them since a bunch of us moved to D1 in the last few days.

Spoke with Jeep Chat yesterday morning and they confirmed that the Punk'd color vehicles would be delayed until mid April. Went in and spoke with the dealership and told them I was considering canceling my order. They said "Why...You have an ETA of 4/10?" I was shocked....went back and contacted Jeep Chat again. Jeep Chat confirmed that I have an ETA of 4/10, but "We don't normally give out that information since the ETA typically changes until you get past D1", but we still have a production delay until mid April. Talk about confusing double talk. Appears that the ETA must be computer/software driven, but there is an outside influence that is driving the production delay.

Either way...Patience is not a virtue that I even pretend to have. LOL The dealer is trying to explain that I can't cancel the order as they will get a strike against them if the order doesn't go to the buyer and if they get multiple strikes, it will impact them in the future. Explained that it's not my problem that Jeep isn't meeting their commitments which the dealer responds that it isn't their problem either. All I'm hearing is "I'm making easy money on this deal and I need to use Jedi mind tricks to keep you here so that I can keep your money!" LOL

Hello fellow Punk'n Jeep fans. I'm hoping to be a first time jeep owner in a few months, but after seeing this forum, I'm a little worried. First concern is that someone said the Punk'n color was limited? Should I be able to order one anytime this year, or could they literally be unavailable so fast? Second, my dealer was sorta clueless on the JL's and Punk'n color. Didn't have any brochures either. Tried to nail down when a Punk'n would be in the Twin Cities area and they found nothing. Nearest I found was 150 miles away in Wisconsin. I do want to "see" it in real life first before ordering though. So I might be making the drive.

Jokes so far from friends for this color are.... When will you paint the confederate flag on the top? And how much traffic to you plan to stop driving a cone around? I love it though! It is a head turner for sure and that is just what dull winters and spring needs in Minnesota - some COLOR!

I'm not sure that it's limited. Jeep is just having a few production issues as they bring this new design online and expand the colors. Think I saw a post that they are selling record numbers and seems that Jeep was a little caught off guard. You should be able to order until sometime late this year (Guessing around the September time frame) before they shut off 2018 orders and begin preordering for 2019. Have no idea if Punk'n will be available in 2019.

Get your Tread Lightly membership going if you plan on using it....Get's you to 1% below invoice as a starting place for negotiation, but takes 30 days before you can use it.

Thanks for the info! And I am covered with the 1% thing.. my company has that nailed down.. which is nice.

Just talked to my dealer again. he said I could come in - order it - and wait time is about 8 weeks (sorta hard to believe) - but he said if it came in and we just didn't like it from whatever reason we were off the hook and we didn't have to buy it. They know they have a gold mine with these Jeeps.. so I'm sure it's no skin off their back.

I’m not really sure what commitment you think it is that Jeep is not meeting. You ordered a late-availability color on a just-released vehicle. Now your dealer saying you can’t cancel? That’s complete BS.

It may be limited in that it may become unavailable in the 2019 model year but otherwise, you should have no problem ordering one.

It could arrive in 8 weeks but it depends on how you configure it. A unlimited with 3.8L and hardtop would arrive much faster than a 2dr turbo with dual top.

But either way, it might be a good idea to check it out in person before ordering since orange is a difficult color to photograph.

I spoke with a dealer today to order mine and she said they already cut off 2018 and are now ordering 2019's which will be available in 4 weeks; has anyone else heard this? I have not seen one, but was told the color is like an orange crayon....

I was just in touch with my dealer today asking him for an update on the status of my JLUR I ordered on 2/19 and was advised it is in transit to the dealership.

I ordered the JLUR Punk’n with dual top, LED lights, Infotainment system, automatic, Cold weather package, weather floor mats, close proximity keyless entry, and safety sensors.

I am hoping his system is not playing tricks on me and I can expect it in 7-10 business days.
