I installed RCV axle shafts this weekend before knowing what an axle shaft seal is. So now I am thinking I should probably add them. Their website says they won’t fit over the inner side of the shaft, but it looks like you installed the seals and slid the shaft through. Is that possible? I want to buy these, but I don’t want to take the CV off the shaft to do it.
Im not sure the answer but I noticed that exact thing in his pictures. I did the rcv’s and tube seals at the same time and I made sure to put the tube seal on the shaft before connecting the CV. This made the tube seal install into the tube much more difficult but I previously thought that was how it had to happen.

So I was under the impression that I'd have to break down the CV joint to install the seals as well (from reading on RCV site). Wasn't looking forward to that.
When I removed the OEM 2-piece passenger side axle (FAD), I could immediately see the reasoning behind it. If you go with a 2-piece RCV axle that retains the FAD, there's no way it would fit thru the axle tube seal. The diameter of that area (right at the FAD) is quite large.
However... on my 1-piece RCV axles that delete the FAD, they had no problems sliding right thru the tube seals.

If you do go with the 2-piece RCVs, you should only have to break down the passenger side CV to install the axle seals. The driver side should slip right thru regardless.

@t0mills have you had much gear loading down the cargo area while wheeling yet? How heavy do you think it'll take before sagging down? I wonder if I just got a pair of adjustable shocks like yours for the rear, I could dial in firmness for camping/towing, then soften them up again when driving around light. Or would that even affect sag, stiffer springs is what's needed. I know fug-all about these systems..

The synergy springs ride great and provide advertised lift, but they are soft which means adding weight will sag them. Pretty much any amount of weight will show up on a tape measure reading.
I've now got 3" lift springs in the rear with a spacer setup. Had it to do over again, i'd have gone with a 4" rear lift spring and no spacer. That would probably net right at 2" of rear lift on my setup to match the front lift.

Thanks. That's 50% good news since I didn't delete the FAD.

Need to catch this up some more I guess. After upgrading all of the speakers in the jeep, it really needed some help on the low-end. As there is very minimal storage space in a 2dr, I needed to retain access to the rear floor compartment. Dropped it off with a friend and told him to make something happen.
He did a pair of the new 8" pioneer subs and an amp in a custom enclosure (wood/fiberglass). I had NO IDEA that some 8" drivers could put out this level of sound. Super impressed with the stereo setup now. Quality sounds similar to my home theater setup inside this little 2dr jeep.
The rear storage compartment access was still retained.

Also wrapped up my 2m/70cm radio setup, just in time for another trip.

Met up with my brother to spend the day running some local forest roads.

Any temptation to go to 37s? Looks great. I get why you are on 35s

Love your build man our jeeps are almost twins parts wise. I did the same exact thing as you on springs swapped my 2" rear coils for 3" + RK tall coil correction wedges(about a 1/2") and the 4" 2 door coils would be a better fit for me as well in the rear.

Next up was a sweet stubby antenna mod. I think this one was a 15" version. Puts it right at snorkel height.

I also installed the Teraflex 1/2" load leveling rear spacers, along with a stainless shim that I cut (0.375"). I probably should have just ordered the Synergy 4" rear springs from the get-go (instead of the 3" rear springs) but it's so hard to guesstimate that stuff.
It sits level now and i'm finally happy with the ride height after installing the heavy rear bumper setup.

Have you had any issues with your 15" antenna in regards to reception? Also, what brand? Thank you!
