Finished my install this weekend. Overall, went ok. The adhesive strips can be a pain until you get used to them. It's a tedious job. Im very happy with the way the inside roof looks. I am less than pleased with the way the fit was around the rear windows. It is pretty bad on one side . They should've erred on the side of to much material so it can be trimmed. The passenger side of mine didn't cover the side window surround well and it's uneven. Looks bad but I will probably paint the exposed white black so it isn't noticeable. Other than that, the top does look good.

I did cut out some areas where my rhino rack back bone attached to the hard top so it took me a little extra.

I think they should come from the factory black!! My last JK In the summer while I had the soft top on I sprayed my top chalk board black and then added I think it was hothead headliners but it came out great and probably will do the same to this one when I get time.

Painting and hot heads would've been the way to go for sure, but I only have the hard top and fumes would've been an issue if I couldnt go topless long enough for them to go away.

I wrote cover king about the fitment around the window for what it's worth. There really isn't anything to do about it now, but if they had a nice black plastic window surround /trim that could snap in to hide the edges it would be ideal. I do love the look of the ceiling.

I would like to see a poll of owners how many would prefer a black inside top to a white, not that FCA would care

I also sent them some details on the rear side window fitment. Mine seemed to be sewn at that angle seam a little off on the fit, which leads to the whole thing being off a little, and hard to get into place. That said, it is not really noticeable with the top on for the most part. I also recommended they provide some additional tape sections to work with for around the rear window and the edges of the freedom tops up front, as I do not like the edges hanging down in those areas. I just used my own pieces of 3M VHB to get a tighter fit as needed.

So I wrote coverking about the window fitment on the passenger side. I really just wanted to comment to them about it and suggest they leave a little extra material so it could be trimmed to fit instead of being short material. They sent me an email that they were shipping me a whoke new liner! I actually replied, telling them this was not necessary because I wasn't going to rip out the old one to re do it. Plus I have the rhinorack backbone and do not want to remove that too.

But kudos to coverking for their response and willingness to make it right! If they still ship me a new one , I'll probably just sell it on the cheap, but hopefully they don't go through the hassle when I told them not to.

Let me know if they send you one and you want to sell it. I would be interested in buying it.

So how did this all turn out? Is it worth it? Hopefully, they make one for the JT as well.

Well, we are 6 months in and love it. Have had a chance to drive a loaner hard top without it on the highway, and the noise difference is noticable. Best part is that we now have a couple of weeks with it in Arizona in hot weather, and it very effectively reduces the heat transfer into the interior from that black top. No issue with it so far.

They really should include more tape coverage to get a more consistent adherence to the top. But it isn't a problem functionally, just my preference for it to be more tightly attached all over the place.

Same here. We had some 100 degree days here in AZ and it makes a difference. I can't tell you if it's less or same than hot heads I had in my JK, cause I really don't have the side by side comparison anymore. But I don't feel the heat radiating on my head with the coverking like I do without it. So far, adhesion is good. I need a little more vbr tape around back window where it didn't have any (edges) but the adhesive it did come with is fine and has not budged.

I don't know if I mentioned it before but there was slight fitment issues around the side windows. I contacted coverking and they were going to ship me out a whole new one! I told them not to worry, it was only a quarter inch on one side that's not noticeable.

I have a little issue with the plastic trim piece around the rear window wires keeps popping out due to the thickness the headliner. I just need to trim that a little more I think.

All in all, I've had this a few months and it's been good. Other than painting the inside and using hotheadliners, I wouldn't have it any other way. Personally I didn't care for the white texture look it came with. Some don't mind, but it bothered me. I really like the look of the black, makes the headliner unnoticeable if that makes sense instead of the bright white.

Did you end up getting a new one?
No, they offered but I had turned it down. If they had shipped it out anyway I was gonna give it away for shipping.

Looks like you’ve had much better luck with Coverking than I.
I’ve been waiting over three months for them so send me the driver side Topliner, which was missing from my original order that I placed in early November. I’ve sent them countless emails only to receive short and rude responses without any of me questions or concerns answered. The Topliner is still sitting in my house uninstalled, with the driver piece missing and I have no clue when, or if, I will ever get the missing item. Very very disappointed.

I’d appreciate hearing some feedback after a couple of years; any problems with failure of the adhesive or regrets not mentioned above?
@Upnarms
@AndyMcConnell

Thanks!
my adhesive failed, but only on the rear, big section, the small panels in the front are gtg.
I messaged coverking, they sent me a new set of adhesive, but I have not found the time to redo it. Will get that done in 2 months once we move into our new house.
