I did the same thing. I replaced my WK2 Trailhawk with a new JLUR, but I chose Punk’n. My Trailhawk was Rhino, and I loved that color. But went a different path for the Rubicon. (Sting-gray was tempting). I pulled quite a bit with my WK2,so interested in any intro you can share via IM on your setup. I plan to build an overland trailer for the fall once I get moved out to AZ. The plan will be to travel all summers and when my daughter is not in school. We would rather do a small off-road trailer for the places we want to go. We thought about a full RV and flat tow my Rubicon, but that would not be quite as fun. So still deciding. We were sold on that idea visiting pagoda springs last year and talking with a bunch of people camping way back on the Blum lands. I am lucky that my wife and daughter love the outdoors as much as I do, so we are all excited for the new Rubicon.( we found the limits of my Trailhawk pretty quickly in CO and Moab. Knew then I for sure needed a Rubicon.)Here it is in Gallup, NM on the way to Overland Expo. I am replacing the Grand Cherokee with the JLUR Granite.....
Although I did like my Trailhawk especially with the Hemi, the first time I took it "off road" it was the final nail in its coffin. It felt like a rental car for the year that I owned it, not really like mine if you know what I mean. If you are moving to AZ, check out Overland Expo for ideas on what is available. There is a litany of purpose built "off road" style trailers that might fit your needs. The trailer in the pic is from Colorado Trailers in Castle Rock, CO. They are a bit steep for what it is, but its nicely done, and it suits my needs just fine. Believe me, the JLUR is worth the wait, I picked mine up on Sat, and did some light wheeling all afternoon on Sun. Its kind of like coming home, to a remodeled house.I did the same thing. This time last year I actually planned to order a 2017 Rubicon Recon site unseen. My wife said I should at least drive one before I do so and the rest is history, I was not a fan of the way it rode, and the transmission seems out of place. After driving the Trailhawk wth the 8 speed, I knew it would at least hold me off until the JL was released. As soon as I was able to drive the JL, I was ready to sign the papers. Dealership bought my Trailhawk, and now I am waiting on my new Rubicon. Hardest part is maybe missing the spring wheeling since I am sans Jeep at the moment. But will be worth it in the long run.
Lots of stuff to play with now!Thought I'd add some pics to the thread. Just recently got notified that my trailer is done and waiting for me to pick it up (oh, and pay the balance due too...:cwl::cwl::cwl: So, the trailer is a Borderland XT that, unless I'm mistaken, when fully loaded will come in right at the 3500 lb mark. But, that's ok...take it into the back woods, park it, then go on some overnight hiking trips with the trailer serving as a basecamp! Now, to just have work slow down a bit so I can drive to Utah and pick it up... I ain't skeered of no Zombies...
Try a RPOD single axle, weight varies according to which trailer you get. I have a model 180 because we wanted a dry bath it is the heaviest they make 2875 LBS. tow it with a 2016 Rubicon.I am currently looking for a small rugged camper. It would be nice to hit a trail all day and come back to something a bit more sturdy than a tent!

Sweet, very similar to mine. I have to leave mine empty for my motorcycle, but I spent the weekend in it at Overland Expo West in may and it was good.Try that again.
